Haotong: 15,000 yuan saved per day compared to oil-burning heavy-duty trucks
Inner Mongolia Bayannur Coal Washery Haotong Transport Company (Haotong) is a traditional coal transport company. In recent years, the company has made little income due to the dual pressure of oil price rise and transport expense decrease.
How to reduce operating cost and increase income has become a problem pressing for solution for Haotong.
We have tried a lot of ways in order to reduce transport cost, said Haotongs head who finally realized reducing oil cost is the fundamental solution. The everyday transport route of every truck of ours is fixed--a provincial highway stretching 320 kilometers from Ganqimaodu port to Tengyi Coal Washery in Wubulangkou, Wuzhong Banner, Bayannur. The carrying capacity of a truck is generally some 60 tons, and the everyday oil cost of every truck will be 900 yuan if 40L is consumed per kilometer, he added.

But how to reduce oil cost then?
After an elaborate investigation and study, Haotong decided to use LNG heavy-duty trucks. With a mindset of trying, the company purchased 50 LNG heavy-duty trucks in batches, all of which carry YC6MK LNG engines, the head said, praising these trucks for operating in good conditions. Based on the operating experience of fellow enterprises, in light of our actualities, we set a daily consumption target of 130 kilograms of gas to every driver. Practice has shown these trucks have been operating in good conditions with only 125 kilograms of gas consumed for 320 kilometers per day, fully meeting our transport requirement, he added.
How much transport cost can 125 kilograms of gas save for every truck of Haotong?
Gas is priced at 5 yuan per kilogram here, and the gas cost will be 625 yuan if a truck consumes 125 kilograms per day. Compared to an oil-burning truck, every truck can save our daily transport cost by nearly 300 yuan and 50 trucks can save 15,000 yuan, said the head.
Due to the first contact with LNG heavy-duty trucks, drivers may come across some problems during engine operations, such as slow warming of engines in the winter, high failure rates of ignition coils and spark plugs. To solve these problems, Yuchais engine service outlet has established a special service team to ensure the effective operations of trucks and free the customer from worry.
Having recognized the quality of Yuchai LNG engines and been satisfied with its service, the head said the company has planned to purchase 250 trucks more recently with preliminary intent on the heavy-duty trucks carrying Yuchai LNG engines.
Jidong: powerful engines adjust to diverse road conditions
The trucks of the transport team under Tangshan Jidong Cement Plant shuttle on highways and between some construction fields in Beijing and Tianjin, transporting Jidong-produced cement products.
Given the perfect LNG facilities in Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan economic circle, the transport team purchased 50 LNG heavy-duty trucks carrying Yuchai LNG engines. However, unlike Haotong, the transport team values the power performance of Yuchai engines more.
Our trucks usually transport 36 or 45 tons of cement, often run on highways and occasionally directly deliver cement to construction fields, what Yuchai engines impress us most are their abundant power and strong explosive force, said the team leader.

Apart from strong power, the team leader was satisfied with the gas consumption of these trucks, saying, These LNG heavy-duty trucks run on construction fields and highways. The average gas consumption of a truck is 58.38 kilograms when carrying 36 tons and 63.19 kilograms when carrying 45 tons. The consumption level is acceptable to us.
Similarly, due to the outstanding operation performance of Yuchai engines, the team leader pledged to choose the LNG heavy-duty trucks carrying Yuchai engines still in future purchase.
There are many customers of LNG heavy-duty trucks like Haotong and Jidong. As a result of a survey by cvworld.cn, over 60 percent of respondents were satisfied with the gas consumption of Yuchai LNG engines and 70 percent were satisfied with their power performance.
Of course, as the development of domestic LNG heavy-duty trucks is still at an initial stage, Yuchai LNG engines will encounter such problems or another. Seeing the efforts of Yuchais service staff, I believe Yuchai LNG engines will be increasingly mature and become the quality power for domestic LNG heavy-duty trucks, a customer was quoted as saying.
