To mark the 84th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and further carry forward the fine tradition of supporting the army and giving preferential treatment to families of servicemen and martyrs, on July 29, Yuchai held a seminar marking the Army's Day, over 100 persons were present, including Li Tiansheng and Zhang Jiasha, deputy Party secretaries of Yuchai, representatives of retired servicemen and demobilized soldiers, families of servicemen and martyrs, disabled servicemen, as well as soldiers in the war to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea. Zhang presided over the seminar.

At the seminar, on behalf of Chairman Yan Ping, Li extended the greetings of the holiday to representatives of retired servicemen and demobilized soldiers, families of servicemen and martyrs, disabled servicemen, as well as soldiers in the war to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea. He said, in 84 years of history, the PLA went through numberless tough battles with great courage and heroism, and eventually defeated enemies. Since the launch of the reform and opening up, peaceful development has become the subject of social development, the PLA has made indelible contributions to the prosperity of the country as a major force promoting China's development as well as the top defender at the critical time. As an enterprise, Yuchai has also made brilliant achievements in national stability and prosperity in a short period of time. During Yuchai's development, a staff team consisting of retired servicemen and demobilized soldiers has become the major force. Facing the "twelfth five-year" strategic objective, we should carry forward the fine tradition of servicemen and renew efforts to contribute to Yuchai's development together colleagues.

Lin Baocheng, deputy director of the Armed Force Department of Yuchai, introduced the department's work in the first half of this year. In the first half, the department has actively carried out the work of supporting the army and giving preferential treatment to families of servicemen and martyrs, and visited families of servicemen and martyrs frequently; has completed the work militia organization in 2011; has actively assisted the Armed Force Department of Yuzhou District and Yuchai in maintaining stability during holidays and festivals; and has perfectly accomplished the task of militia training in 2011.

Subsequently, the attendees exchanged opinions on army life and changes in post-liberation life, as well as greetings of the holiday.
