On June 29, the school bus delivery ceremony, jointly held by the Lhasa Municipal Government, Yutong and Yuchai, was staged in Lhasa. Over 100 persons, including persons in charge of the municipal government, leaders of Yutong, Li Changjun, director of Yuchai Tibet office as well as representatives and students of schools in seven counties and one district, were present.
Scene of the delivery ceremony
On the scene of delivery, primary school students in national costume cheeringly got onboard 53 Yutong school buses with Yuchai engines. Drivers fastened hadas to the buses as a token of safety and auspiciousness.
Tibets farming and pastoral areas are remote and undeveloped in transportation. All the 53 school buses will be used to transport primary and secondary school students in Lhasas farming and pastoral areas. The project was among Lhasas 12 livelihood projects.
Yuchai Tibet office will try its best to serve the school buses to reassure students and their parents, said Li, adding Yuchai engines enjoy an exceptional advantage on plateaus. Several years ago, Yuchai made plateau calibration in Tibet, and the result proved that Yuchai engines properties are more suitable for plateaus. Besides, upon prior communication with Yutong, technical means such as increasing the speed ratios of rear axles, adding preheating units and increasing the capacity of batteries have been used to make the buses more safety and human-oriented.
So far, Yuchai has had four professional service outlets and a parts distribution company in Lhasa, with its service network covering the downtown. Also, Yuchai Tibet office has formulated the driver guide and vehicle notes to facilitate driver learning. At the same time, the office placed in buses the warranty manuals containing the 24-hour hotline numbers of all local service outlets so that drivers can contact nearby outlets in time in case of emergencies to ensure fastest solutions.
