On July 3, Chen Wu, President of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, visited Yuchai, during which he praised Yuchai for achievements in high-quality development. Moreover, he encouraged Yuchai to concentrate superior resources, strengthen innovation efforts, extend and improve industry chain and control the high ground of future competition, so as to promote high-quality development of machinery industry in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

He visited the site of Yuchai Pure Electric Commercial Vehicle Project, the workshop of Eberspacher Yuchai Emission Processing System Co., Ltd. and Yuchai-Changyuan Donggu workshop to learn the current conditions of each project in detail.

The Yuchai Pure Electric Commercial Vehicle Project is a major project of secondary entrepreneurship in Guangxi’s machinery industry. It is planned to build an integrated comprehensive manufacturing base, with an annual capacity of 50,000 pure electric commercial vehicles, focused on research and development, manufacturing, selling and service of pure electric commercial vehicles and their parts and components. At present, the main body of the plant is under construction.

President Chen entered the workshop of Eberspacher Yuchai Emission Processing System Co., Ltd., when several foreign engineers were mounting and testing devices. On seeing President Chen, the engineers came up to him immediately and introduced the advanced devices to him. The devices, the most advanced ones in the world, will all be used to manufacture efficient diesel engines and aftertreatment systems of gas engines.

President Chen affirmed Yuchai's outstanding achievements in international project cooperation, product research and development, enterprise transformation and promoting construction of Guangxi Advanced Equipment Manufacturing City (Yulin). He said that the Autonomous Region has basically complete manufacturing system in the machinery industry and is home to Yuchai, Liugong and other leading enterprises in the industry which developed China VI engines and other knock-out products. Against the backdrop of the secondary entrepreneurship in Guangxi’s machinery industry, he encouraged Yuchai to take the opportunity to make greater contributions to sustainable and healthy economic development of the whole Region by strengthening technology, product and system innovation, extending and improving industry chain, enhancing cooperation with world-class enterprises, sharpening the competitive edge and building an international power city.
