Recently, at the Award Conference for Science and Technology in Machinery Industry organized by the China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF) and the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), the serial standards for "measuring emissions of reciprocating internal combustion engines", formulated by Yuchai and the Shanghai Internal Combustion Engine Research Institute, won the third national prize for machinery science and technology.

The implementation of the serial standards has standardized the inspection of internal combustion engine production and the supervision and random inspection of exhaust smoke test and measurement by internal combustion engine manufacturers, supervisory bodies and research entities, and is of great realistic significance to boosting China's capacity for internal combustion engine technology innovation, raising the research level of innovative technologies, pushing forward the engineering application of advanced internal combustion engine technologies and promoting the rapid transformation of advanced internal combustion engine technologies to productivity.

Co-formulating the national standard has not only enhanced Yuchai's capacity for domestic industrial technology development and competitiveness in science and technology, but also shown its innovation ability.
