During the 10th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO 2013), Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., said in an interview that Yuchai has participated in CAEXPO for ten straight years; via the great platform of CAEXPO, Yuchai's products have successfully marched towards ASEAN and the world.
Wu acclaimed the significant role of ASEAN in boosting China-ASEAN economic and trade exchanges. He thought the success of CAEXPO 2013 has deepened ASEAN countries' and merchants' understanding of Guangxi, Chinese enterprises and their products, and will help enterprises in ASEAN countries go further into Chinese enterprises to boost the economic and trade development of both sides.
Meanwhile, via ASEAN, Yuchai products have begun to march towards ASEAN and the world. Over the decade, Yuchai's market inventory in ASEAN has risen gradually. Particularly, in the Vietnamese truck market, Yuchai has accomplished rapid development in the Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi bus markets, the Malaysian bus market, the Thai gas engine market, and the Philippine and Indonesian marine generator markets. Now the overseas sales of the ten ASEAN countries account for nearly 40 percent of Yuchai's overseas sales. The ASEAN market has played a vital role in Yuchai's overseas market.
Yuchai has developed a series of products meeting the need of the ASEAN market to satisfy ASEAN's need for Yuchai products: whether in emission upgrading or power upgrading, Yuchai products have extended from traditional truck and bus engines to marine engines.
A growing number of customers have deepened their understanding of Yuchai products and Yuchai via CAEXPO. Remarkably, some leaders of ASEAN countries including the incumbent Thai prime minister and former Myanmar president led government delegations and business teams to investigate Yuchai via CAEXPO. Thus, Yuchai-ASEAN cooperation has become increasingly close.
According to statistics released by Yuchai, by July 2013, Yuchai had had a market inventory of 73,954 units in the ASEAN market, including over 60,000 units in Vietnam alone. Now all vehicles running on bus lines in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh and operated by Chongzuo-Lang Son International Coach United Company have been powered by Yuchai, and Yuchai's products have been widely used in Vietnam's relevant fields such as automobile, construction machinery, agricultural machinery and ship.
Meanwhile, Yuchai's engine sales have been soaring in markets like Myanmar, Thailand and Laos, Yuchai's products enjoy overwhelming superiority in the Vietnamese and Myanmar truck markets, the Philippine and Indonesian marine engine market, the Thai gas engine market and the Malaysian coach market, posing threat to Japanese and Korean vehicles.
