On March 12, headed by Vice President Li Pinghua, a delegation of seven members from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) visited Yuchai. Wang Wei, chief economist of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., met with the guests, conferring with theme on establishing a national engineering practice and education center.

At the seminar, Wang and Lin exchanged ideas on and reached consensus on matters such as center inauguration, organization form, method of daily management, persons in charge from both sides, tutor candidates, production internship, living arrangements for interns and professional course design. After the center is built up, HUST will irregularly organize professors and lecturers to hold technical lectures on subjects such as new materials, new processes and new technologies in Yuchai.

The center is intended to give full play to the respective specialties of the enterprise and the university in talent training to jointly cultivate a large number of outstanding manufacturing engineers through study, work and research. According to the cooperation plan, every year, 20 to 30 bachelors, masters and doctors of HUST will come to Yuchai for production internship, professional course design, graduation design and project researches jointly determined by Yuchai and HUST

Among other attendees were Huang Yi, director and Mo Xiqiang, deputy director of Yuchai Training Center and Chen Jinyuan, chairman of Yuchai Technician Association.
