Recently, Ben Weber, director of Engine Lubricants Research Department, Fuels and Lubricants Research Division, Southwest Research Institute (SwRI); James McCord, manager of Fuels and Lubricants Research Division; Dr. Sylvain Kouame and Zhang Guanfang of Beijing Office of SwRI visited to teach internationally advanced lubrication technology at Yuchais invitation.
Training scene
The training, which will last four days and a half, involves engine bench testing and engine design and development, lubricant testing capacity, physicochemical testing and engine bench testing of engine oil of all specifications, success or failure parameters and limits of all specifications, trends of technical development of lubricants for CNG engines and base oil, enhancement and monitoring of heat resistance of lubricants, etc. Diverse exchange forms will be taken in the training, such as course teaching and field problem analysis. Also, the training will go into engine oil consumption, heat resistance of engine oil, detergency of engine oil, etc.
According to sources, some developers of Yuchai Friction and Lubricants Research Institute had been sent to the U.S. for relevant training. This time, the training given by SwRIs experts will not only deepen relevant personnels understanding and applications of internationally advanced lubrication technology, but also provide an opportunity for more staff of Yuchai to learn and master internationally advanced technology.
