May 20, 2012 marks Chinas 22nd statutory National Day for Helping the Disabled with the theme of Intensifying Cultural Services for the Disabled, Safeguarding the Cultural Rights and Interests of the Disabled. On the day, the celebratory event of the 22nd National Day for Helping the Disabled, jointly organized by the Beiliu Disabled Persons Federation BDPF and the Beiliu Education BureauBEB, undertaken by Beiliu School of Special Education BSSE, was held on Yongfeng Square in Beiliu. Yuchai was invited to the event, donating 20,000 yuan for the school to build a website, buying new schoolbags for 226 deaf-mute students and presenting clothes and books donated by entities under Yuchai Group.
At 9 AM, Ye Bin, deputy Party secretary of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. and Guo Shijuan, the Women Workers Committee of Yuchai Group attended the event, together with Fu Zhengxu, vice mayor of the Beiliu Municipal Peoples Government; Liang Weichang, council chairman of BDPF and Wang Youwei, deputy director-general of BEB, leaders of departments such as the federation of trade unions, the youth federation, the womens federation and the bureau of civil affairs of Beiliu, and caring persons from all walks of life. The teachers and students of BSSE presented a spectacular art show to guests present.

In the speech, Ye said Yuchai would stay focused on BSSEs development and pay attention to the growth of disabled children, hoping BSSE would make the most of good resources to promote the special education undertakings of Beiliu and Yulin and make more disabled children get educated and live on their own, thus jointly composing a song of social harmony.

In the event, BSSE thanked Yuchai and caring persons from all walks of life for their help and support, presenting a plaque and a silk banner reading Disability Assistance, Boundless Beneficence Ye received the plaque and banner on behalf of Yuchai. Following the event, Ye and other leaders visited the schools student craft exhibition in Lis company.
According to sources, founded in 1991, BSSE is a full-time general special school practicing pre-school rehabilitation and the nine-year system. It is Guangxis first county-level special education school and one of the special education schools with the largest number of students in Guangxi. From one class and one student in the beginning to 15 classes and 226 students today, it has recruited students from a dozen counties, cities and districts in areas such as Guangxi and Guangdong, thus becoming an important window of Guangxi to showcase its achievements in the development of the special education undertaking.
