Yuchai shows love on National Day for Helping the Disabled

On May 22, Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. YM, headed to Honeywells headquarters in Morristown, New Jersey, U.S. for a call on David Cote, chairman and CEO of Honeywell. The two sides discussed Chinas economic situation and future trend, reviewed cooperation problems, sought solutions, and made great efforts to contrive all-round cooperation at the group level. David Paja, Honeywell Transportation Systems Vice president and General Manager for China and India, Lin Zhiqiang, chief engineer of YM and Han Yiyong, secretary to the board of directors of Yuchai were present.

As a world leading automotive turbocharger developer, Honeywell has maintained cooperation with Chinas top diesel engine manufacturer YM for more than a decade as its first supplier of engine turbocharger systems. In September 2011, Honeywell Turbo Technologies and YM concluded a long-term new strategic agreement, reaching consensuses on deepening and expanding cooperation, making resolutions on forging a longstanding and reciprocal partnership through technical expertise, quality advantage and market experience, thus promoting the sustained and steady development of both parties. By virtue of Honeywells top turbocharger technologies, Yuchai will develop high-performance diesel engine to sharpen core competitiveness of Yuchai products in performance and cost. As major strategic partners, both sides were optimistic about the prospect of mutually-beneficiary cooperation.

According to sources, Cote was elected as president and CEO of Honeywell and to the board of directors in February 2002, and as chairman in July 2002.
