Yuchai ranks among GoldenBee Enterprises

The 7th China CSR Forum & the Release Ceremony for 2011 GoldenBee CSR China Honor Roll was staged at Empark Grand Hotel Beijing on June 5. The ceremony awarded the GoldenBee Enterprises for 2011. As a result, Yuchai Group made the list as its second GoldenBee CSR honor after the GoldenBee Purchase Award for 2008, thus becoming one of Chinas CSR pioneers and models.

The event was themed Common Vision, Common Action and jointly organized by China WTO Tribune, Sino-German Corporate Social Responsibility Project, CSR Europe, CBCC and SHRM China. Upon a questionnaire survey of candidate enterprises, an evaluation of practical cases and field survey of enterprises by the organizers, and rigorous examination by the GoldenBee CSR Expert Committee, a list of 37 GoldenBee Enterprises was worked out. By its outstanding CSR performance, Yuchai stood out of over 350 candidate enterprises from different areas and industries in the country for 2011 GoldenBee CSR China Honor Roll, and its paper Boosting Remanufacturing, Practicing Cyclic Economy was included in the Case Collection of 2011 GoldenBee Responsibility Competitiveness and exhibited on the spot. Among other winners were 14 Old Bees including State Grid Corporation of China and 23 New Bees including Aluminum Corporation of China.

Since the launch of GoldenBee CSR China Honor Roll in 2008, over 1,500 enterprises have voluntarily entered for the event, of which over 150 made the list.

Guided by the core concept of Green development & win-win in Harmony, Yuchai has actively performing corporate social responsibility, consciously elevated corporate social responsibility to a strategic level, combined corporate social responsibility and business strategies, and closely integrated corporate social responsibility performance with business operations and development. By taking measures including endeavoring to improve working environment, signing collective labor contracts, carrying out the Spring Bud Schoolgirl Program, reducing social cost, developing the cyclic economy and building the worlds most competitive power supply chain, Yuchai has accomplished reciprocity and mutual benefit with interested parties including staff, society, environment and suppliers, established the friendly relationship of sharing development achievements with interested parties, and created favorable atmosphere of harmony and win-win. Since 2008, Yuchai has released five CSR reports consecutively.

While releasing the 2011 Benchmark Report for GoldenBee China CSR Practice and 2011 GoldenBee CSR China Honor Roll, the conference reviewed achievements of responsibility actions of Chinese pioneer enterprises under the framework of GoldenBee 2020 Social Responsibility Initiative; released China White Book on Agricultural Value Chain Development and the new issue of Intellectual Property Protection--GoldenBee 2020 initiated by Microsoft China; the initiators of GoldenBee 2020 jointly delivered the launch ceremony. Besides, sub-forums on six issues including GoldenBee 2020: Future Enterprises were staged during the conference.

Among attendees were Shi Guangsheng, former minister of foreign trade and economic cooperation, vice chairman of the Financial and Economic Committee of the National Peoples Congress and honorary president of China WTO Tribune; Chen Jiagui, member of the Standing Committee of the National Peoples Congress, president of Academic Presidium of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and chairman of the GoldenBee CSR Expert Panel; Yao Shenhong, director-general of the China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges and president of China WTO Tribune; Yin Gefei, vice president of China WTO Tribune and president of the International Research Center for Social Responsibility & Sustainable Development of Peking University, as well as delegates from CSR Europe, CBCC, SHRM China, and French and German CSR managers.
