On the morning of July 17, Han Yuanli, mayor of Yulin led heads of 24 government departments to Yuchai for site work on talent introduction, the land for low-income housing construction and advancement of major projects. Sparing no efforts to support and push forward Yuchais development is not only the need for Yulins efforts to press ahead with the major strategy of invigorating Yuchai and prospering Yulin, but also the requirement of Guangxis target of building Yuchai into an enterprise with annual sales of 100 billion yuan, Han noted.

At the site work meeting, Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, briefed the visitors on the operations of Yuchais business sectors. With the support of government departments at all levels, Yuchai has strengthened internal building and actively contended for the market, with its engine sector decline 11 percent lower than the industry level and its market share rising by 1 percent. In the first six months, Yuchais energy & chemical sector and logistics & vehicle trading maintained positive growth against the tendency. The energy & chemical sector grew by some 23 percent year on year, maintaining healthy development in severe market environment, Yan said, adding, to ensure sound operations, Yuchai will advance some major projects in succession, which call for support from government departments.
Han spoke highly of Yuchais achievements so far his year. Yuchais developments are hard-won and are results of the painstaking efforts of all the staff of Yuchai, the municipal committee and government will pool the citys strength to boost Yuchais development, Han said, requiring that all government departments should fully realize that sparing no efforts to support and push forward Yuchais development is not only the need for Yulins efforts to press ahead with the major strategy of invigorating Yuchai and prospering Yulin, but also the requirement of Guangxis target of building Yuchai into an enterprise with annual sales of 100 billion yuan; that all functional departments should raise their awareness of service, offer services voluntarily, conduct active connections, voluntarily open up green channels and coordinate to solve problems arising in Yuchais development as soon as possible; and that the government supervision office should conduct regular follow-up and urge efforts to practically solve problems raised by Yuchai to meet the enterprises development demand.
Also, Han offered his opinions and suggestions on Yuchais development. He said, the municipal committee and government attach great importance to Yuchais development, and support Yuchai in developing and going out in ways such as foreign investment and system reform. And Yuchai should conduct active planning, broaden thinking, make good use of existing resources, and accelerate technical R & D and brand upgrading, in a bid to narrow the gap between Chinas diesel engine industry and its foreign counterpart and build Yuchai into an enterprise with annual sales of 100 billion yuan.
At the meeting, Zheng Jiezhong and Xuan Jiajun, vice mayors of Yulin; Gu Tangsheng, president of Yuchai Group and Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. exchanged ideas on relevant issues. Relevant government departments including the Yuzhou District Peoples Government, the Administrative Committee of Yudong New Area, the Administrative Committee of Yuchai Industrial Park and the Yulin Municipal Power Supply Bureau answered the questions raised by Yuchai. According to sources, regarding the questions previously raised by Yuchai, Yulins government departments have strengthened coordination, have reached consensuses on the land for low-income housing for Yuchais staff, Phase 3 of Yuchai Foundry Center and the land for other major projects, and have been advancing relevant work smoothly. The location of the coal yard garnering wide attention from Yuchais staff has entered a substantial stage, and relevant sides have invested over 100 million yuan in new yard construction. The new yard will be built up in August and yard relocation is expected to be initiated in this year.
