On the morning of October 16, at the laboratory of Yuchai Power Machinery Co., Ltd. (YPM), Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, pressed the button to ignite new engine model YCD4V. With a click, the engine started up, and ran steadily and forcefully.

Among other attendees to the igniting ceremony were Shen Jie, chief engineer of Yuchai Group; Chairman Li Hanyang, General Manager Wu Chuang, Deputy General Manager Liang Bin and R & D staff of YPM

According to Liang, with a displacement of 2.5L and a cylinder bore of 89mm, YCD4V uses electronically-controlled VE-pump oil feeding system, is up to National IV emission standard, and is characterized by large power and compact appearance. The engine will be extensively applied on light-duty trucks, pickups and minibuses, and can always be used in fields such as agricultural machinery, low-speed vehicles and engineering vehicles after deformative development. Such engines enjoy robust demand in the domestic market and have good market outlook.

Yan spoke highly of the contributions of YPMs R & D staff, saying they have played a non-negligible role in the process of expanding the product range from single two-cylinder engines in the early days of the company into tens of models ranging from single cylinder to four cylinders today. He required the company to pay closer attention to the development of R & D staff and strive to improve their working environment. Also, he encouraged R & D staff to work hard to develop more and better products for the company.

Before the igniting ceremony, the delegation led by Yan visited YPMs showroom displaying field transporter, sugarcane combine and engine products, installation & assembling line and commissioning workshop. Yan inquired into the property characteristics and market performance of products one by one. Yan was pleased to learn YPMs field transporter and sugarcane have outstanding performance and bright market outlook and have gained initial recognition in the market, and its engines have occupied a host of markets by superior performance and curbed the expansion of its rivals. He lauded YPMs keen market vision and effective development, encouraging the company to advance product R & D, promote the maturity of products, make great efforts in market development and create economic and social benefits as soon as possible.
