On October 18, the autonomous region work leading group on competitive industrial enterprise headed to Yuchai for an inspection, inquiring into its performance of production and operation indicators, parts support, talent introduction and other information. The group has four members, including Kang Runsheng, sub-inspector of the Industry and Information Technology Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GIITC); Zhang Liang, deputy chief of GIITC; Liang Huateng, associate researcher of the Party School of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee of CPC, etc. Leaders including Qiu Yushu, vice chairman of the Yulin Commission of Industry and Information Technology, accompanied the group.

Zhou Sunhai, vice president of Yuchai Group; Pan Guoyuan, chief strategy officer of Yuchai Heavy Industry Company Limited and Li Xidong, assistant to general manager of the Planning Department of Yuchai Group held a seminar with the group members.

At the seminar, Zhou briefed the group on Yuchais performance of business indicators in the first nine months, actualities of parts support, factors restricting support level, etc. Affected by the auto industry and the construction machinery industry, as well as the countrys economic situation, Yuchai saw a slight decrease in its sales revenues and the continuous growth of its sectors of energy & chemical and logistics & vehicle trading in the first nine months, Zhou added. Also, Zhou reported on core parts support and the factors restricting the settlement of supporting enterprises Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. and Yuchai Power Machinery Co., Ltd. are low in the localization degree of core parts and had to purchase relevant parts from outside Guangxi. Corporate external environment and policy factors have affected the settlement of core parts manufacturers, he said. He hoped the leading group would obtain some policy support for Yuchai in such aspects as land, investment environment, talent and tax.

The CPC Committee and the Peoples Government of Guangzhou Zhuang Autonomous Region released the Decision on Enlarging, Strengthening and Optimizing the Industry of the Autonomous Region in 2009, with the aim of boosting the overall level of industrial enterprises and supporting enterprises in the autonomous region, and driving the development of small and medium-sized enterprises through leading enterprises, thus creating a favorable situation in which large-sized enterprises are indomitable and small-sized enterprises overspread, said Kang after hearing the report on Yuchai. Yuchai has been listed among the competitive industrial enterprises of the autonomous region for consecutive years, is a key target of cultivation for achieving annual sales of 100 billion yuan in the twelfth five-year period, and should endeavor to overcome difficulty and fulfill targets. As a leading enterprise, Yuchai should drive the development of supporting enterprises and contribute to the rise in the overall industrial level of the autonomous region.
