On June 2 and 3, 2014, provinces such as Hunan, Guizhou and Sichuan were hit by storms. 24 towns and townships in Xishui County, Guizhou Province were struck by storms twice. Due to the long duration and great intensity of the storms, some towns and townships were severely afflicted. Yuchai Heavy Industry Company Limited (YHI) assigned disaster relief missions to local offices at the earliest possible time, and YHI's offices contacted local customers of Yuchai for disaster relief.
To protect towns' safety, the local government decided to demolish new buildings to discharge flood. Yuchai excavators were duty-bound to hurry to the scene at the earliest possible time. With high efficiency, strong power and reliable performance, YHI's YC230LC-8 excavator worked on the front line of flood fighting against time and accomplished the mission of flood fighting and disaster relief. Another Yuchai excavator YC85-8 cleared township streets neatly in an effort to resist possible heavier floods.
The disaster relief efforts of Yuchai excavators attracted attention from the media including CCTV. CCTV reporters froze the impressive moments. CCTV News described Yuchai excavators like this: Yuchai excavators which fought against floods and relieve disasters by outstanding performance to ensure the people's life and property safety deserve to be representatives of national brands.
