On the morning of Feb 18, 2007, the opening ceremony of Yuchai Lubrication and Frication Research Institute was held. Ping Yan, the president of Yuchai Group, and the director of Yuchai Lubricant Company, Huiwen Chen, opened the plate for the Lubrication and Frication Research Institute.

 

    Many honored guests attended the ceremony such as: Exxon Mobil Corporation of Mainland of China and Hong Kong district sales manager Ronghua Chen, Lubrizol Addictive Corporation vice president Chongfei Tang and product manager Jun min Zhao, deputy general sales manager of Lubrizol Lanlian Addictive Company Changjiang Zhang, Chevron Oronite (Tianjin) International Trade Ltd. Beijing Office manager Xiaodong Liu, and their Asia-Pacific region motor petrol manger Baiqiang Yu, etc.

 

    The director of Yuchai Engineering Academy, Professor Bin Zhuo, hosted the ceremony and announced that Xiaohong Cai and Bing Deng were appointed vice directors of the Lubrication and Frication Research Institute.

 

    Yanping, the president of Yuchai Group thanked all experts and technicians who contributed to the Yuchai Engineering Academy. He expressed his high expectation to the construction and development of the Engineering Academy. He said: Yuchai Engineering Academy was founded in July this year. In the board meeting held in Xiamen on Nov 23, Chinese and international companies agreed to invest 310 million yuan to build headquarter of Yuchai Engineering Academy in Naning in 3 years. This is an exciting event. It is a very important step for the growing of our Engineering Academy. Hope more and more research organizations, engineers, domestic and overseas experts to join our academy.

 

    Based on the target of constructing the world first class engineering Academy, Yuchai Engineering Academy has built an experts committee directed by the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The committee is made up of 32 top technical experts in domestic automobile industry. It guarantees the strength of research and development. The Lubrication and Frication Research Institute is subordinate to Yuchai Engineering Academy. Its missions are: to strengthen the research and development; to upgrade technical service; to improve quality of oil products; and to promote Yuchais lubricant and frication related business. The establishment of Lubrication and Frication Research Institute is an important step to increase the ability of Yuchai Engineering Academy on technical innovation, talent team construction, product diversification, and brand development. 

 

    The research institute will work on projects based on the requirements of Yuchai Lubricant Company. After 12 years high-speed development, Yuchai Lubricant Company, the first domestic lubricant company developed by a diesel engine enterprise, has become a star in the lubricant industry. Huiwen Chen, the director of Yuchai Lubricant Company pointed out that the Yuchai Lubricant Company will use the strong research ability of Yuchai Engineering Academy to improve product quality and develop new products. Chongfei Tang, the vice president of Lubrizol Addictive Corporation expressed that Lubrizol will continue to cooperate closely with Yuchai Hi-Grade Lubricant Company based on the ideas of innovation, cooperation and win-win.

 

    The foundation of Lubrication and Frication Research Institute is a major strategy for Yuchai to the world market in the future. It increased the Yuchais research and development ability to a higher level. It helps Yuchais to hold the leading position in domestic diesel engine market and expand Yuchais lubricant business as well as push the company to the international market.
