It was  announced by the 9^th issue of China Reform magazine that Chairman of the Yuchai Yan Ping was listed as one of the 120 candidates for "Economic figures of 30-year's reform and opening up of China " by the organizing committee of the "30-year's anniversary of China 's reform and opening up forum & the evaluation event."

T he "30-year's anniversary of China 's reform and opening up forum & the evaluation event " is hosted by the China 's economic reforms committee, China 's economic reform magazine and the broadcast network. Since started on April 17 in Beijing , the anniversary has been interested by general public.

  30 people will be named for China 's reform and opening up figures in agriculture, economic figures and social figures respectively. The selection is divided into two phases. The 100 selecting committee consistent of officials from ministries, experts, scholars and famous public persons will vote to reduce the candidates from 120 to 60 then select 30 from the remaining 60.

In this month's China Reform magazine published the articles Yan Ping: The commitment to reform and reconstruction of Yuchai, and Yan Ping, a mature entrepreneur by a well-known writer Jia Cundou in the "special" column.
