The first home made State V engine is successfully developed in Yuchai

At the end of May this year, Yuchai joined the world's largest corporate citizenship initiative -- Global Compact. In July, it released the first social accountability report of the Chinese engine industry. It was the practice and development of the core value green development and win-win in harmony which was introduced in 2006.  

The concept represents the milestone of Yuchais development and integration of business with the social responsibility and the environment protection. The green development means to develop on the green manufacture road; be the pilot in the green power of China; be the controller of the largest moving pollution source; be the contributor to the energy efficiency and resource conservation; upgrade the business; combine the mission of Yuchai together with the long term prospect of the society, nation and country; increase the harmonious development of society and nature; and realize the harmony and win-win with clients, people and society. Under the background that the world is getting more and more concerned about the environment and the nation is strongly implementing  the strategy of scientific development and harmonious society, it represents the direction for made in China .

The stong innovative ability enables Yuchai to achieve the goal. Yuchai has state-level technical centers, post-doctoral research station and Engineering Research Institute. Among them the national laboratory is one of the largest, most complete and advanced labs in the whole industry in China . From State I (equivalent to Euro- I) engine to the State V, Yuchai kept 3 to 5 years ahead of the competitors domestically. At the time China implemented the State III standards, Yuchai had launched the State V products. The Beijing Olympics used 2,000 Yuchai State IV diesel electronic control engines for the public transit system. It is the only domestic manufacturer to successfully get the order. By 2007, 70% of diesel engines used for the public transit system in Beijing came from Yuchai.  

The deeper meaning of it is to be a Chinese enterprise with a sense of social responsibility. Along with the growth of Yuchai, it has carefully considered the standardization of the implementation of social responsibility. From enterprise to the employees, Yuchai has done a decades long history of helping the needy students by making donations and funding. Some examples are the Spring Bud Plan to help the female students in poverty, the Group scholarship grants and funds, Yan Ping Love and Care Fund. During the blizzard disaster and the Sichuan earthquake of this year, Yuchai responded quickly and donated generators, clothing and money worthy tens of million Yuan.  

Since became the leader of Yuchai, because of the huge contributions on the corporate culture, management, products and innovation, Yan Ping was nominated by CCTV for the candidates for the Economic Figure in Chinas Economy in 2006, Ten Most Influential Figures in Innovations of China (industry) Reform, 30 Outstanding Entrepreneurs of Chinese Auto Parts Industry in the 30 Years Reform and Opening up, Outstanding Figure in Chinese Auto Industry, Top CEO of Engine Industry, as well as the Top 60 Economic Figures for Chinas 30-year Reform and Opening up.
