The annual event was based on the leading edge industrial companies, including effective green technologies and solutions from a variety of international, domestic famous carmakers. The evaluation took nearly half  year, and was subject to the fair review by experts from Ministry of Science and Technology , China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Automotive Engineering Departments of well known universities like Tsinghua University , as well as other auto media. A group of 7 awards on new energy and new technology were selected. They were: "leading science and technology gold medal," "green environment protection gold medal", "energy-saving emission reduction gold medal", "innovative technology gold medal", "energy-saving design gold medal", and "model operation gold medal and the new technology gold medal".

A total of 16 enterprises including Zhongtong Bus Holding Co., Ltd., Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., Shanghai Diesel Engine Co., Ltd., Weichai Power Co., Ltd., Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., Yutong Bus Co., Ltd. and others were selected.

Deputy Director of China Automotive News Xin Ning, deputy secretary general of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers Shi Jianhua, president of FPT Fiat Powertrain Technologies (China) spoken respectively at the conference. Chief engineer and head of the Advisory Group of Energy Saving and New Energy Auto Subject of Ministry of Science and Technology Wang Binggang, and deputy director of the Automotive Engineering Department of Tsinghua University Song Jian introduced the development situation on Chinese new energy auto, as well as the future direction. Representatives from the award winning enterprises received the awards certificates from the distinguished guests in the ceremony.
