In 2008, Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. made outstanding accomplishment in the patent work. It maintained the first place in the patent work in Guangxi. For the whole year, Yuchai submitted 216 applications for patents and 187 of them are accepted by the State Intellectual Property Office, up 59% from 2007. Twenty nine patents were inventions items, up 190% from 2007. One hundred and thirty eight patents of the company were granted for last year, of which 2 were authorized the patent for inventions. They filled the gap in the domestic technology.  

The whole staff of the Product Engineering Department of Engineering Research Institute has been hard working at the development of new products. Following the call for one employee one patent, the department had submitted 115 patent applications in 2008.  

The results of patent work in 2008 improved the development of new products and technologies, and substantially enhance the technical content of products and market competitiveness.
