At 830 am, Feb. 2^nd, along with the sound of fireworkers, the 1^st phase of engine casting transformation project of Casting Center broke the ground. Managers of the Casting Factory, along with the chief engineer of Yuchai Real Estate Company Chen Gang, manager of Engineering Department Gu Yuguang attended the groundbreaking ceremony.    

The project began the exchanges of processing equipment and technological and bidding work in April, 2008. In order to save time, the project department and other Designing Institute worked hard on the project. The main workshop of the 1^st phase started construction on February 15 2009. It was 13 days ahead of schedule. According to the time frame for the project, the main workshop is due to be completed within 390 days.  

The 1^st phase of the project consists of the No.1 casting workshop, warehouse and other necessary supporting facilities. The construction of the Casting Center is divided into phases. Three casting workshops will be built in the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd phase respectively. The 1^st workshop will produce 45 thousand tons of casting for crock block and crock head; the 2^nd one will produce 30 thousand tons, and the 3^rd, 68 tons. The area for the three phases is 1048.55 mu. while the 1^st one covers 178 mu with a construction area of about 50,000 square meters.     

The casting center project started in October 2007. Its technological level was set to achieve the domestic leading position. The technique and equipment were to meet the domestic first-class level.
