According to report, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Geely Automobile and Zhejiang Yinlun Group will start producing 2.0 liters diesel engine sedans in their joint venture around mid-2010.   

The 2.0 liters diesel engine is being developed by AVL List GmbH of Germany. Its sample model development will be completed in September this year.

Once successfully developed, a large number of Geely vehicles, including mid-level sedan, SUV and MPV, will have their diesel versions. Although the diesel vehicles are mainly for overseas market they may be put into domestic market if China encourages the use of diesel sedans.
