---Grow internal strength and increase external power for development

The first meeting of the 16th Conference of Representatives of Workers of Yuchai Group was opened at the Yuchai Culture Center in the morning of February 16. Over 700 representatives, on behalf of every unit of Yuchai, attended the event. Deputy Secretary of Yulin CCP municipal committee Liu Zifu and vice chairman of Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of board of Yuchai Yan Ping also attended the conference.  

On behalf of the city Party Committee and government, Liu Zifu extended his warm congratulations to the meeting. He showed his high appreciations to the achievement of Yuchai in achieving the goal of to build another Yuchai in 3 years. He had the following wish list: the Group should stay on the principle of to grow internal strength and increase external power for development; overcome the difficulty brought by the global financial crisis; continue the strategy of to grow Yulin by strengthening Yuchai; constantly make innovation; sustain the booming development; and play the leading role in promoting the machinery manufacturing industry cluster and shaping the famed city of small- and medium-size enterprises in pan-Beibu Bay to make new and greater contributions to support the optimal and harmonious development of the city.  

As reported, facing the global financial crisis and the market crisis, in 2009, Yuchai proposed the development guidelines of to grow internal strength and external power and use full force to develop. The implied meanings of the guideline are: work hard to build up internal strength to enhance the overall capacity; find new market growth points and gather full force to utilize it; unite the whole staff to maintain growth; promote development and strive to build a world famous brand and become an international large corporation. The key works for 2009 are as follow: take a positive respond to the adversity brought by global financial crisis; set up strategic management system; continue deepening the internal industrial restructure; explore the funding channel; actively grab market opportunity; speed up technological upgrading and innovative incentive mechanism; develop leading edge products; foster corporate culture and human resources; and increase independent innovative capacity and competitiveness.
