Beijing municipal Zhong Yan Construction Machinery Manufacturing Company and Beijing Shijingshan Sanitation Center jointly held the conference at the Beijing Paradise Gloria Grand Hotel on February 11 to introduce the new State IV special purpose vehicle. 6 new State IV special purpose vehicles--- the first group of home made States IV special purpose vehicle--- assembled with chassis and State IV engines of Yuchai were shown at the press conference. It marked the start of China 's truck makers to enter the State IV special purpose vehicle market.

Dr. Li Qin of Yuchai was invited to give a full description of the advantages and characteristics of the Yuchai State IV engine at the conference. Director of the Yuchai Beijing office Wei Zhe also introduced the Yuchai State IV engine service network and parts reserve. Li Qin said: Yuchai has already worked with a number of truck makers to develop State IV truck. The State IV truck engines of Yuchai include YC6K, YC 6M , YC 6L and YC6J models with power ranging from 180-550 hp. Among them, YC6K, targeting the modern high-speed high-end trucks and the high-end large luxurious bus, is an internationally leading heavy duty engine model with power ranging from 390-550 hp. YC 6M , YC 6L and YC6J are developed from the sophisticated four-valve State III engine. Their emission standards are upgraded and their major parts inherit the feature of the predecessors. The peripherals installed size is similar to State III models. In addition, the development of other State IV products is under process and is projected to be released in a short time. Currently, the 4 models all adopt the wet cylinder structure. Their reliability is relatively higher and the maintenance costs are relatively low.

Beijing has been implementing State IV emission standards. In 2009, the sales volume of State IV special purpose vehicles with Yuchai State IV engines are expected to exceed 1, 000 in Beijing. Shanghai will also enforce State IV emission standards from November 1, 2009. Some other cities are also on the eve to introduce the standard. The State IV era is coming soon.  

Leading technology represents one of the distinctive characteristics of Yuchai Machinery. Yuchai technology has made huge contribution to the energy-saving and emission reduction to the internal combustion engine industry of China . Being the only mature domestic State IV engine supplier, Yuchai have served the National People's Congress and CPPCC Congress, as well as the Beijing Olympic Games. To explore the State IV truck market is one of the strategies of Yuchai to work with national truck manufacturers to deal with the financial crisis together, and it will improve product competitiveness of China 's truck makers, promote China 's trucks export and reduce the crisis impacts on China 's automotive industry.
