Chairman of Yuchai Group Yan Ping: state-owned enterprises should take more responsibility

state-owned large- and medium-size enterprises should take more responsibility in fighting against the global financial crisis as they are the backbone of national economy, said the representative of the National Peoples Congress and Chairman of Board of Directors of Yuchai Group Yan Ping. He added that beside no layoffs, wage cutting or salary arrears, they should also develop new products applicable to the current economic condition in order to explore the domestic and international markets and rejuvenate the economy of China .

He said that up to date, Yuchai has independently developed the first smallest home made 1.2 L and 1.3 L sedan diesel engines in the world that filled the gap of national manufacturing. In January this year Yuchai Group received orders for over 20, 000 engines.  In February, the order number climbed to over 50, 000 and in March, it surpassed 60, 0000, hitting a record high. the practice has proved that as long as the state-owned large- and medium-size enterprises take full advantages of human resources and technologies, and keep developing new marketable products, they could increase market shares and make huger contribution to the country in overcoming difficulties, Yan Ping added.
