The former vice chairman of the NPC Standing Committee and the well-known economist Cheng Siwei accompanied by Party secretary of Yulin city Jin Xiangjun visited Yuchai on March 25.  

Since the beginning of this year, Yuchai has bucked the difficult from the financial crisis with huge increase of orders. In February, it received 50 thousand orders. In March, the orders surpassed 70 thousand. The production and sales volumes of engines hit a record high, creating the so called Yuchai miracle. Cheng Siwei, who always pays huge attention to the development of Yuchai, inspected the R&D base of engine and the workplace with leaders of Yuchai Li Tiansheng, Liang Ping and Li Chengjie.

Cheng Siwei examined the new products that were independently developed by Yuchai and listened to the introduction by president of Yuchai Construction Machinery Research Institute Prof. Zuo Bin. He in person experienced the simulated vacuum environment at the engine noise laboratory and carefully reviewed the engine dynamic testing and asked information of every technology.  

Cheng praised the achievement of Yuchai after watched the workers operations and learned about the manufacturing equipment, the production capacity, product marketing, development planning, etc. at the processing workshop of heavy duty engines and the assembling and testing workshop of heavy duty machines. He encouraged Yuchai to keep working hard to achieve more and contribute more to the revitalization of national industry.   

Cheng Siwei also attended the Yulin Leaders Forum held by CCP committee of Yulin and municipal government later that day. He delivered a special speech on how to deal with financial crisis effectively at the forum.
