The completion ceremony of Songtao Yuchai Hope Elementary School

Another Yuchai hope elementary school was completed! Songtao Yuchai Hope Elementary School located in Ziyang city, Sichuan , held its completion ceremony in the morning of March 31. Chairman of Yuchai Group Yan Ping, vice mayor of Ziyang city government Guo Yonghong, secretary of Yanjiang district CCP committee and director of district peoples congress Mao Shaobai, president of Yuchai Group Gu Tangsheng, deputy secretary of Yuchai CCP committee Zhang Jiasha, chief engineer Li Hanyang and special assistant to chairman Zhang Zhengqing cut the ribbon at the ceremony together.   

The devastating 5.12 earthquake severely damaged Songtao Zhennan Elementary School, the predecessor of Songtao Yuchai Hope Elementary School that left children out of school. Yuchai Group, who always contribute to education, showed its love to students affected by the disaster and made huge donations to the reconstruction of earthquake-hit areas. Yuchai has donated a total of 1.5 million Yuan to Songtao Yuchai Hope Elementary School . In 2008, Yuchai donated money and supplies over 15 million Yuan. The school with an area of 15 mu and a construction area of 1, 688 sq m could hold more than 800 students. It is the 36^th hope elementary school that was built with the funding from Yuchai. Starting from late 1990s, Yuchai has donated 7.5 million Yuan to build another 35 hope elementary schools. Yuchai will continue contributing to education and reward excellent students in hoping that students would work hard to repay society.

Yan Ping is very concerned about children in disaster area as he believes that education is the responsibility of everyone because youth represents the future of the country. He personally donated computers that worth 100, 000 Yuan to the school to upgrade the facility of the school. He said that he and his family would continue to support the school as the education of elementary schools represents the hope and future of the nation. He hoped  this school would be the best elementary school in the area with the help of the local government, communities and the hard working of faculties.  

Yuchais contribution to charity has been widely appreciated by the community. On behalf of Party committee and government of the city, Guo Yonghong thanked Yuchai and believed that the project would benefit the future generations. As the leader of internal combustion engines industry, Yuchai plays an active role in repaying society. It takes the social responsibility and supports the reconstruction of disaster area that mirrors its profound love to the people of Ziyang city and the support to the education of Ziyang. She sincerely wished that Yuchai be a thriving and prosperous enterprise. Additionally, she required all agencies of education to carry forward Yuchai spirit in funding for education and honoring social responsibility, and build the school into a prominent school, as well as a brilliant star of Ziyangs education.

School children were very delighted to have the new learning environment thanks to the support and love of Yuchai. A student used the word luckiest 3 times in his speech at the ceremony. We are the luckiest ones to be the students of Songtao Yuchai Hope Elementary School ; we are the luckiest ones to study on the beautiful environment with comprehensive facilities and equipments; we are the luckiest ones to grow under the protection and love of Yuchai and teachers, said the student. She and her classmates promised that they will grow to be responsible persons, live up to the expectation of Yuchai, inherit and pass on Yuchai spirit to future generations.
