The Yuchai dual-fuel engine produced by Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. and a dual-fuel system supplier in Shenzhen city was successfully completed the first phase of development in May. It marked a huge step of Yuchai in entering the dual-fuel engines from single fuel engines.
The first dual-fuel engine of Yuchai is also the first dual-fuel engine that is produced by domestic diesel engine maker and successfully put into the market. The diesel and natural gas are precisely controlled by the electronic control system of the engine. According to the test, the mixed burning ratio reaches as high as 90%. The system effectively controls the engine air-fuel ratio to make the burning more efficient. The average replacement rate of natural gas is over . The engine maintains the power capacity of the original engine, increases the economy benefit, and reduces the emission.
The engine functions well when it burns mixed diesel and natural gas, as well as pure diesel. It solves the limitation of natural gas engines and the three major problems that are environmental protection, energy saving and refuel. The first dual-fuel engine has been delivered to Yutong Company for the new ZK6909H bus. The bus will be put on road by Hainan Auto Transport Co., Ltd.
Following the technical progress in turbocharger, inter-cooling, electronically controlled system and after-treatment technology, the dual-fuel represents a technical breakthrough of Yuchai in response to the challenge of new energy. It also is Yuchais new contribution to the national energy saving policy and the strategy to develop new energy autos.
