The oath taking ceremony of new members to join the Party

A spectacular celebration of the 88^th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese Communist Party was staged at Yuchai Group in the morning of June 29, along with the awarding ceremony of model organizations and individuals of the Party in 2008.  

Among the more than 1,000 attendants were leaders of party committees, Yuchai management team, departments, plants, subsidiaries of the Group, as well as representatives of Party members, Youth League members and employees.     

Party secretary of the company Yan Ping made an important speech and deputy Party secretary Li Tiansheng announced the awards. The celebration was hosted by deputy Party secretary Zhang Jiasha.

The celebration kicked off with the National Anthem of the Peoples Republic of China .   

80 new members of the Party took oaths to join the Party under the Party flag.

On behalf of the Party Committee of the company and grassroots Party organizations, Yan Ping greeted all Party organizations and over 2,800 Party members and congratulated the model organizations and individuals. He gave an important speech on the topic of take the path of scientific development, speed up the globalization of Yuchai  

He said that the economic and social achievements had gained were due to the leadership of Chinese Communist Party over the past 88 years. The history has proven that only the Chinese Communist Party can lead the people across the nation to create a glorious new era and new achievements and only the Chinese Communist Party can be unyielding in the face of any disasters, he added. Chinese Communist Party is a great, glorious and right Party that represents China s direction.

Yan Ping pointed out: this year is a critical year for the 11^th Five-Year Plan and coincides with the 60th anniversary of Peoples Republic of China . Since the current global financial crisis is yet reached the bottom, we have a long way to go facing the opportunities and challenges. When we commemorate the 88^th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party, we have to keep a clear mind on the reality, explore and learn from the experience of the scientific development of Yuchai, take positive and effective response to the financial crisis, and speed up the globalization, the realization of green, scientific, forward-looking and harmonious development.  

Over the past year, under the leadership of the CCP Central Committee and the Guangxi Party Committee and Yulin Municipal Party Committee, Yuchai emancipated the mind, strengthened the responsibility, made innovations and reforms, refined management, innovated Party building and achieved remarkable results. The fourth Party Congress was successfully concluded. A new leadership team of the Party committee was formed and the development goals for the next 3-5 years were drafted. The goal of to build another Yuchai in 3 years was achieved. The Group has achieved good results in production and sales from Jan. to May that made a rebound in the downtown market and scored another Yuchai miracle. Facing the difficult and challenging, the teams of Yuchai and every sector united together that improve the team strength.

Yan Ping pointed out: although the performance was gratifying, we must be clearly aware that there were many problems in our work. The development of the sections was not balanced in the Group. Except 3 sectors including engines, engineering machinery and logistics, sales of other 3 sections were declined compared to the same period last year. Although the sales revenue of the Group continued growing, the overall profit was dropped. The current entire economic environment and market conditions were in a slowdown and the situation had not improved due to the spreading of global financial crisis. Following the peak season from January-May, the company will be back to off-season immediately. Therefore, all Party members must keep a clear mind and take the lead in fighting the crisis.

To the end, Yan Ping had three requirements: First, to continue opening mind, clarify the responsibility, gain growth in the downturn and boost development; Second, to strengthen the crisis management and improve the quality of the operation to secure development; Third, to have a firm belief, follow the path of scientific development and build a better Yuchai. Yan Ping said that we need have a proper view of the crisis, i.e., be prepared for danger in peaceful time, be composed in the face of danger, turn crises into opportunities. We should change the mode of thinking and strengthen the crisis management; calmly deal with the financial crisis to ensure the safety of business development. Yuchai has to be confident in reducing the impacts of the financial crisis based on  its strength,  influence and the innovation capacity. Centering on the new requirement of marching on the path of scientific development, we should focus on the following six areas: accelerate corporate reform and innovation and promote the healthy development of the Group; improve corporate management and enhance management effectiveness; apply scientific mechanism to strengthen the management team; pay attention to the people, unite people and build a harmonious enterprise; fully take social responsibility and promote the brand internationalization; innovate the Party building methods to enhance the efficiency of organizations.

Yan Ping stressed that in 2009, Yuchai was facing an unprecedented grim situation, as well as a golden opportunity for development. The vibrant Yuchai has a bright future. All Party members should unite together, work hard and firmly follow the path of scientific development to speed up the globalization of Yuchai.  

Zhang Jiasha emphasized that the speech of Chairman Yan Ping offered an important overall requirements for our work in the 2^nd half of the year. Every Party organization should study and implement the Concept of Scientific Development. We should march on the scientific development path, fight against difficulties, seize the opportunity to reach the business objective this year and accelerate the globalization of Yuchai.

A large number of model organizations and individuals emerged over the past year were awarded at the assembly.

Leaders including Yan Ping Li Tiansheng, Gu Tangsheng, Liang Heping, Wu Qiwei, Li Hanyang, Zeng Shiqiang, Yan Jie, Su Peng and Rao Yingxian presented awards to winners.  

The assembly ended with the song of Internationale.
