Hope Project is one of the social activities organized by Communist Youth League. In the past 20 years, more than 300 million Yuan was raised for the project. 120,000 primary school students, 8,500 middle school students and 24,733 undergraduates were benefited by the Project. As a leading enterprise in internal-combustion engine industry and pioneer in Guangxi's enterprises, Yuchai Group made great contribution to the Project. They were honored the "Guangxi Hope Project 20 years anniversary contribution award".

 

In order to improve the education level in poverty areas in Guangxi, since 1995, Yuchai Group has been the largest donor to the project in Guangxi with donation of 2.5 million Yuan each year for three consecutive years and the total donation of 7.5 million Yuan. From 1998 to 2000, Yuchai sent 13 volunteers in two groups to Baise and Nanning to support local education. Since 2006, Yuchai has taken an active role in "The Spring Bud Project" proposed by All-China Women's Federation for putting girls who in poverty areas and have dropped out of school because of financial reasons, back to school. The company also donated more than one million Yuan to "The Spring Bud Project" for 4 years and supported 500 financial needed female students each year. Yuchai's slogan is "Support one child, heart-warming one child, and give hope to one child". Since August 2007, Yuchai Youth League Committee has organized the education support activities such as "One to one, and several to one" with the theme of "Hands on hands, heart to heart". All the league members in the name of  Youth Civilization Unit" or Communist League responded to the call and supported more than 30 students from families with financial difficulties in Yulin. On May 2009, Yuchai cooperated with Tientsin University and donated 500,000 Yuan to support students from low income families in the University.

 

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Yuchai Group, Yan Ping established "Yan Ping Love Care Study Grant" and has donated 100,000 Yuan each year since 2006. This Grant is to support Yuchai's employees's children who have good grads to finish their higher education. Within the recent three years, there were more than 200 employees? children benefited from the grant of total more than 650,000 Yuan. Yuchai would not allow any one employee's child to be dropped from school due to financial difficulties.

After the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, Yuchai donated more than 15 million Yuan to Sichuan disaster area. Yuchai cares about the children in disaster area and donated 1.5 million to reconstruct the Nanshi Primary School in Songtao Town, Yanjiang District, Ziyang, Sichuan and renamed the school as "Songtao Yuchai Hope Primary School". The school covers 15 Mu with the construction of 1,688 square meters. It can accommodate over 800 students. It is the 36 ^th Hope Primary School Yuchai built. Yuchai was awarded "Guangxi Hope Project Outstanding Contribution Award", "Guangxi the Spring Bud Project's Outstanding Organization" and "Yulin Hope Project Outstanding Organization".

 

Yuchai Group takes the responsibility of the development of society and community and actively participating in public activities to foster a good and healthy company image. Yuchai has donated total more than 5 billion Yuan into the education, medical care and health, environment construction, charity, culture and sports. It received many honors such as "Star Unit of Charity", "Outstanding Organization of the Warmth Project, and National Outstanding Organization for Spiritual Civilization Construction.
