On Nov. 25, the cornerstone of Y & C Engine Co., Ltd. had been laid in Wuhu city of Anhui Province. The Secretary of Anhui Provincial Party Committee and the Vice Director of Standing Committee of Anhui Provincial Peoples Congress, WANG Jinshan announced the kick-off of the project. Besides Mr. WANG, the Vice Secretary of Anhui Provincial Party Committee and the Governor, WANG Sanyun, the Secretary of Anhui Provincial Party Committee, ZHAN Xialai, the Secretary of Wuhu Municipal Party Committee, CHEN Shulong, the Deputy Secretary of Wuhu Municipal Party Committee and the Mayor, YANG Jingnong, the Chairman of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., YIN Tongyue, the Vice President of China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd. (CIMC), the Vice Chairman of Yuchai Group, LI Tiansheng, all together banked up the cornerstone with earth. YANG Jingnong presided the kick-off the ceremony.

 

Y & C Engine Co., Ltd. (Company) was founded in Aug. 2008. It is a joint venture of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., CIMC, and Chery Automotive Co., Ltd.. Both of them are powerful enterprises in China., Aiming on the exploitation of advanced technology and management science and giant-partnership and co-development, the Company produces and distributes cost-competitive and high-quality engines for heavy-duty trucks and other supply parts. It is located in the Linjiang district of Wuhu City, Anhui Province. The total investment is 1.5 billion RMB. It is a three-phase project. The end annual capacity is estimated at 200,000. The first phase will be finished by the end of 2010 with investment of 800 million RMB and an area of 70,000 m². At the end of first phase the capacity of the company is to achieve 60,000 which  including the complete assembly lines of engine blocks, cylinder-heads, and the assembly-inspection production line,

 

WANG Sanyun said that the establishment of Y & C Engine Co., Ltd. in Anhui Province was not only good news for the provincial automobile industry, but also a magnificent event for the promotion of Anhui equipments. The Company is helpful in expanding and strengthening the automobile industry in Anhui and is also a highlight of innovations in resource conformity with a high degree of technology, excellent growth potential and vast vistas. WANG Sanyun also stated that the Anhui government hoped that all parties involved should cooperate sincerely to enhance the quality of construction and speed up the progress. He also requested the related provincial departments and Wuhu city should strengthen the coordination, offer good service, utilize the environment, and actively solve any problem that occurs during the construction and establishment of the Company.

In addition, Yuchai also believes that the Company would fully take the advantage of the competitive edge in marketing, technology and branding of the three major shareholders, to build a high-end national brand and occupy the top position in China heavy-duty truck industry.

 

As a representative of Yuchai Group, one of the major shareholders, LI Tiansheng solemnly promised that Yuchai would continuously offer the best supports in product development and manufacture technologies and apply the state-of-the-art techniques onto the current and new products, aiming to enhance reliability, decrease fuel consumption and emission.

 

Dozens of cooperation partners, such as AVL Co., Ltd. from Austria, Bank of Communications, Bank of China, China Everbright Bank, and tens of suppliers, like Bosch Co., Ltd. from Germany, Federal Mogul from the States, congratulated together for the kick-off.

 

According to news the primary product of the Company, YC6K series, is independently developed and will be an integration of the current state-of-the-art technologies with more than 30 technical patents. The first application of reliability improvement technology makes a break through in the weakness. The creative adoption of precision combustion and electronic control techniques achieve lower fuel consumption and emission. The backward crosscurrent cooling technique and the innovative use of highly intense materials improve the usage life by a great extent. The product also meet Euro VI emission standard, competitive to the new volume-production engines in Europe, 2012.

 

The about-to-be-completed production line combines the sophisticated technology and sustainable development aiming at green manufacture and inspection-free. The principal equipments are all produced from global famous brand with the characteristics of high-precision and low-energy-consumption. The online inspection technology, fail-avoiding technique, environmental safe and protection, and information technology are completely applied by combining the advanced manufacture, inspection facilities, and intellectualized quality control system to ensure the compliance, precision, and quality of each process.
