On May 18, good news came from the scientific and technological work conference of Yulin that Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. and Yuchai Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. were ranked among Yulins Advanced Units in Patent Work in 2009.

    Yuchai Machinery, among the third group of national pilot enterprises and institutions in patent work, carried out patent work in high standard and strictly. On the basis of improving the innovative capacity for the R & D of diesel engine technology, the company introduced and assimilated advanced technology, promoted the enhancement in the capacity for independent innovation and sharpened the core competitiveness of products. By carrying out patent work, the company constantly intensified the protection of proprietary technology and core technology, jumped to a new stage in patent work, and was ranked first in the number of patent applications for four years in a row from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, the company applied for a total of 211 patents, including 32 invention patents and 161 utility model patents, and eventually won 167 patents, thus creating remarkable social and economic benefits.

    Yuchai Heavy Industry attached great importance to scientific & technological innovation, product innovation, technical innovation and management innovation, endeavored to develop new products and technologies, increased the quantity and quality of independent intellectual properties of enterprises, sharpened corporate market competitiveness and achieved encouraging results. At the same time, Zeng Qiang, from Yuchai Heavy Industry Construction Machinery Research Institute, was granted the title of Yulins Advanced Individuals in Patent Work in 2009.
