"I have visited many large enterprises but havent found a company like Yuchai interested. said LIU Zhigang, the president of Harbin Engineering University in Nov. 25 ^th. At the same day, YAN Ping, the Chairman of Yuchai, GU Tangsheng, president of Yuchai, and ZHANG Jiasha, the Vice Secretary of CPC Committee had a discussion with leaders from the university regarding the cooperation issues.

 

Start from this year, Yuchai began to develop the heavy duty mid-speed marine diesel engine. Yuchai is facing the shortage of technicians in the field. Yuchai needs to hire a large number of people to work on the heavy duty marine engine project. Harbin Engineering University is a key university with the graduate school and the first batch of universities which were selected for national 211 project. It is also an important national training base for for marine industry, navy equipment, ocean development and nuclear energy. The university is also one of the main forces on the ships and warships technique and application and a key organization on advanced navy techniques & equipment and ocean high-technology. It can provide the students that meet the Yuchai needs. Therefore, Gu Tangsheng led a recruitment team to Harbin Engineering University to hold a job fair on November. Also the visit by LIU Zhigang intensified the cooperation between the two parties.

 

YAN Ping welcomed the group led by LIU Zhigang. He said that Yuchai needs the support from Harbin Engineering University regarding the development of heavy duty med-speed marine diesel engine, especially the technicians. YAN Ping hopes the university can provide customized outstanding students specializing in marine power to Yuchai in the future. Through the communication and exchange of ideas, both parties established a strategy to develop and promote the cooperation between the university and the enterprise.

LIU Zhigang said, Yuchai has made remarkable achievement in the industry by its hard work. His trip to Yuchai is aiming at establish a solid foundation for the cooperation by providing excellent students to Yuchai.
