In the afternoon of 1st June, secretary of Autonomous Regional Committee of the

and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Autonomous Regional People's Congress , Guo Shengkun with a group accompanied by him carried out a thorough investigation to Yuchai. Jin Xiangjun, secretary of the Yulin Municipal Committee of the Communist, and Han Yuanli mayor of Yulin traveled together with him.

Yuchai Huayuan Machine (Yulin) Co., Ltd.
As a major construction project in the Guangxi Zhuangzu Autonomous Region ? Yuchai Founding Center, its first production line in phase I was going to normally take 150 days from the equipment commissioning to the beginning of production. However, the goal of mass production was achieved on 12, March 2010 after only taking 90 days, which really indicates Yuchai Speed? in project construction. At present, the maximum daily production of this production line in each shift reaches 560 units of engine block castings. When viewing advanced technological equipment, skilled operation of robots and smooth production rhythm in the Founding Center, Mr. Guo Shengkun was smiling with satisfaction.
After the visits, Mr. Guo Shengkun with a group accompanied by him came to the meeting room of Yuchai Huayuan Machine (Yulin) Co., Ltd. in the 5th floor to have discussion with the executive management team of Yuchai.
In this meeting, Mr. Yan Ping reported main business operations completed by Yuchai Group from January to May in 2010. Mr. Yan Ping said that Yuchai Group with accumulated development potential had realized sales revenue of 16,879 billion yuan accumulated from January to May, up 54.46% over the same period last year, and had achieved the full year target sales revenue (30 billion yuan) of 56.26%, and had sold 383,200 units of various diesel engines, up 19.92% over the same period last year. After that, Mr. Yan Ping summarized several personal viewpoints for the reasons why Yuchai made such a great achievement. One paramount reason is that Yuchai made full use of technical innovation to increase core competence.
Mr. Guo Shengkun has highly appraised the achievement made by Yuchai and happily said: we had felt based on this visit that Yuchai had done a good job, and that Yuchai development speed, product quality and production efficiency had surprised us. Yuchai Group generates a strong promoting effect to the whole industrial process for Yulin and Guangxi. In Yulin where there are not advantages in industrial cluster support and human resources attraction compared to other developed cities, it is not easy for Yuchai to make such a great progress, of which we are proud. Party committee and government of Guangxi autonomous region appreciate of efforts of the leading group and personnel of Yuchai.
Mr. Guo Shengkun put the emphasis on one viewpoint that while summarizing developmental experiences and former progress, Yuchai shall constantly carry out summary, publicity and implementation and obtain new results in the following three aspects.
Firstly, it is required to establish a powerful, practical and pioneering leading group, which is a key for enterprise development. The leading group shall include a management team and a technical research and development team. Two teams shall be capable of winning various battles with a fighting and pioneering spirit. If Yuchai does not have such a great management team and a powerful research and development team, it is impossible to obtain leading place in some business segments, product quality, and high-grade, high precision and advanced technology. Hopefully Yuchai leading group will keep developing spirit and maintain the great performance. Next year will be the 60th anniversary of Yuchai factory establishment. We wish Yuchai will take the celebration as this chance to present a brand new appearance for Yuchai staff, citizens throughout Yulin and the whole Guangxi. If in the 60th anniversary of Yuchai factory establishment Yuchai achieved 40 billion yuan of sales revenue, I will definitely visit Yuchai again.
Secondly, the system and mechanism are the basis for a corporation development. Yuchai has formed the system and mechanism which are suitable for not only the market development but also own situation. The system and mechanism, including human resources system (about how to bring in, retain and cultivate talents), distribution mechanism and assessment & evaluation mechanism, has generated great power. On this basis, Yuchai need to make more effort and trigger more innovations to carve out a new style in developing own system and mechanism. So Yuchai has to make full use of time to complete the corporate governance structure and additionally become a listing company. So we will give strong support to Yuchai in restructuring own mechanism, going on the board and raising money. Yuchai shall dare to cooperate with other companies, and have more courage to take over some companies, which is really the spirit and ambition of Yuchai.
Thirdly, technical innovation and market share are fundamental for cooperation development. Therefore, it is required that we have to speed up the transfer of economic development mode according to requirements of the scientific outlook on development. Yuchai is a corporation. So we can not speak the transfer of economic development mode? in general terms. What we shall do is to realize innovations in technology, product, new energy and some industrial chains. Yuchai shall gradually extend the industrial chain. Yuchai products almost cover the whole diesel engine industry chain, from small displacement to large displacement, from low power to high power, from generally parts to state-of-art parts. This is not an easy achievement for any company. The large range in industrial chain also generates improvement force for development of Yulin. We shall update product and speed up the transfer of enterprise development mode by technical innovation to increase the quality and profit of enterprise development. In severe competition of enterprises, no progress simply means regression. When an enterprise is well developed, everyone is happy; but when it is in recession, the degradation speed is so quick that nobody can defeat it. Therefore, it is required to sweep a campaign of technical innovation over the whole plant and realize the transfer of developmental mode, setting up ambiance where everyone stays prepared against adversities in times of peace, dares to make innovation and speeds up the development.
When the meeting was coming to the end, Mr. Guo Shengkun said in an affectionate and expected tone: I wish Yuchai has this spirit and ambition, that is, to become No. 1 in China, as well as throughout the world.?
