Passionate and robust in scorching July. On the evening of July 4, Yuchai Culture Center was alive with dazzling lights. The 1st Yuchai Star English Songs Contest, sponsored by the Trade Union of Yuchai Group, Yuchai Training Center and Yuchai English Association, was held here. Leaders such as Wang Wei, chief economist of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd.; Huang Bojiang, vice chairman of the Trade Union of Yuchai; and Wan Shenglan, director of Yuchai Training Center were present. The contest was judged by Yu Shuanghui, music teacher of Yulin Normal College (YNC); Wang Xiaoling, English teacher of YNC; and Guo Yuanyuan, chief auditor of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd.

      In the two-hour contest, contestants from all units brought their demeanor into full play and vividly interpreted classic English songs one after another, arousing cheer of relatives and friends and activating the scene.

       A lovely English song named Lemon by Qi Yanmeng from the first engine plant livened up the scene, the infectious Your Raised me Up by Yang Qiang from the second engine plant pushed the event to the climax. The impressive interpretation by Tang Hanbing from Yuchai Huayuan also won bursts of applause and unanimous praise from the audience. Programs such as guitar performance, lovers yoga performance and English solo were also presented during the contest to make our gala more impressive.

       The feeling of youth was rendered with the sincerest singing. Melodious songs, brilliant actors and enthusiastic audience made the gala colorful. As a result, the special prize went to Yang Qiang, the second prize to Liang Chaohuan, Tang Hanbing and Qi Yanmeng, the third prize to Lei Yufang, Feng Wei, Ma Shangyan and Chen Ying, and the excellent award to the other contestants, leaders such as Wang Wei, Huang Bojiang and Wan Shenglan presented awards to the prizewinners, the contest was rounded off in warm applause and jubilant music.

       The gala displays the united, passionate and aggressive spiritual outlook of Yuchais young staff, creates a favorable atmosphere for English learning and enriches the leisure and cultural life of English fans.
