On the morning of July 28, on a barren wasteland overgrown with weed, Phase 1 of Yuchai Foundry Center was launched, with a planned annual output of about 38,000 tons of cylinder head castings. Over 100 persons, including Liang Qingyan, deputy general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., the management team of the foundry, foundry experts, leaders of relevant departments of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. and representatives of construction units, attended the launch ceremony.
With a planned building area of about 46,600 square meters, Phase 2 project neighbors the first workshop (Phase 1 project) of the foundry center that has been completed and gone into production, and mainly manufactures cylinder head castings matching diesel engine models such as YC6J, YC6L and YC6M.
After the completion and operation of Phase 2 project, Yuchais existing foundry technology, production management, talent resources and other aspects will be integrated, and Yuchais comprehensive capabilities in the R & D of new processes, materials and technical equipment of foundry, the development and trial manufacture of new products and other aspects will be boosted, thus Yuchais comprehensive strength and competitiveness will be improved.
Yuchai Foundry Center was constructed by stage. With a building area of 36,000 square meters, Phase 1 project mainly manufactures 6J/6A/6M/6L cylinder body castings with an annual output of 45,000 tons of six-cylinder body castings. Phase 1 project, which progressed fast and went into production on March 12, 2010, created marvelous Yuchai Speed.
Located in Yuchai Industry Park, with a total planned area of 1,800 mu, Yuchai Foundry Center has built six foundry lines, which manufacture high-strength, thin-wall, high-caliber and high-precision castings of cylinder bodies and heads of diesel engines, and cover cylinder bodies and heads of mini-sized, light, medium-sized and heavy diesel engines. After completion, the foundry center project will contribute 900,000 sets of cylinder bodies and heads and about 300,000 tons of castings a year.
