Yan Ping speaks in the demonstration of once-off pouring

Among Yuchais talent teams, apart from R & D talents, there is a high-tech talent team made up of technicians who draw close attention from and are valued as Yuchais treasure by Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group. Yuchai has 104 senior technicians and 703 technicians, and established the first corporate technicians association in Guangxi in 2008 with Yan as honorary chairman.

Yan has an open preference for technicians in Yuchai, who often says, The level of workers determines the product quality of an enterprise. Yan generously rewarded outstanding skill workers in 2008; appropriated a sum of RMB 1 million to reward technicians and appointed five outstanding workers as chief skill masters and six first-line technicians as specific skill masters in March 2010. Under Yans direct care, Yuchai has organized outstanding technicians for overseas surveys, visit and learning in famous enterprises around the country and rehabilitation in sanatoria in recent years, and retired outstanding technicians have been reemployed as long as health allowed. In the Mid-autumn Festival, Yan specially delivered moon cakes to technicians.

Whenever possible, Yan will attend the skill and achievement demonstrations organized by technicians, who said, This is a good opportunity to have close access to technicians, talk about work and family life, and listen to the voice of staff. He is much familiar with the skills of Yuchais technicians such as once-off hooking, once-off pouring and once-off judgment as well as achievements of technicians such as molding master Chen Jinyuan and sharp-sighted melting master Ling Zhiyong. He often chats with technicians. Zeng Xianlin, reputed as a skilled equipment doctor, remained moved by a meeting with Yan. At that time, Yan paid a sudden visit to Zengs studio after a business trip, and affectionately recollected the days as a fitter after being seated. When seeing the computers on Zengs desk were a little obsolete and after having understood the role of computers in work and computer configuration, Yan gave an immediate instruction to allocate ten new computers to the maintenance center. Now, almost all technicians have been equipped with new working computers.

Yan guided these skilled blue collars into the era of annual salary. Melting master Ling Zhiyong enjoys an annual salary of over RMB 100,000, was awarded a car by the enterprise, and is granted an extra transportation subsidy every year. Yuchais favorable atmosphere for growth makes a large number of young workers see the light of career development and grow rapidly into technicians. In recent years, Yuchais workers have often gained top places in autonomous region and national occupational skill competitions. For example, in 2008 Guangxi Young Technician Skill Competition and 2009 Guangxi 3rd Occupational Skill Competition, Yuchais young technicians made a clean sweep of the top places by outstanding skills in categories such as mold fitting and installation, and testing and maintenance of numerical control tools.

Under Yans special care, Yuchais technicians have made great efforts and led a wonderful life.
