On August 1, Yuchai 2010 Occupational Skill Contest-CAD Drawing, Benching, Lathing and Milling Skill Contest, orchestrated and held by the organizing committee of the contest, was rounded off after four days intense competition. The results will be published in the commending activity in October, when contestants honored as technical pacesetters and technical experts and winning excellent prizes will be commended ceremoniously.

All the 92 contestants were selected from units such as Jinchuang Company, Power Company, Fittings Company, and Technological Equipment Plant, Foundry, Cool Machining Plant, First Engine Plant, Second Engine Plant, Third Engine Plant, Engineering Research Institute, Manufacturing Technology Department and Quality Department of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd.

Apart from CAD drawing, the theoretical questions on skill categories such as benching, lathing and milling were assigned on the basis of the companys practical applications, according to the national technical standards and national question bank. Skill operation questions on mating parts, assigned according to the requirements of national and autonomous region contests, were difficult and complex, needed contestants to master processing technology and benchmark and elaborately prepare special tools and measuring tools before the contest, and was an acid test for contestants energy and will. CAD drawing contest was held for the first time, theoretical examination and skill operation were synchronized on computers, 37 questions fell into three categories-environment configuration, drawing operation and dimensioning, and the contest time was two hours.

Now, the organizing committee is organizing assessment of the contestants examination papers and skill operations.
