Yuchai ranked among Top 100 Chinese Enterprises in World Low Carbon Environment Impetus

From July 28 to 30, 2010, the 3rd World Environmental Conference, jointly organized by the International Energy Conservation Environmental Protection Association (IEEPA), World Wind Energy Association (WWEA), China Society of Urban Economy (CSUE) and China Petroleum & Petrochemical Equipment Industry Association (CPEIA), and partly organized by the London Development Agency and ICC China, opened in Beijing. At the grand ceremony of Top 100 Chinese Enterprises in World Low Carbon Environment Impetus coinciding with the conference, Yuchai was ranked among Top 100 Chinese Enterprises in World Low Carbon Environment Impetus.

The event was held by the Organizing Committee of the 3rd World Environmental Conference with the aim of guiding all walks of life in advancing the construction of world low carbon environment. Since launch in this May, the event has gone through the stages of collection and nomination, online voting and expert review. Through the online voting with over 1 million voters and the review by the Expert Committee of IEEPA, Yuchai Group, which upholds the core concept of Green Development & Win-win in Harmony, keeps to the road of green industrial development on the basis of protecting ecology and constructing a benign industry chain, deems it its duty to provide cost-effective green power and green machinery, and serves as Chinas largest controller of mobile pollution sources and the Chinese leader in green power, stood out of over 400 candidate enterprises and was ranked among the Top 100 Chinese Enterprises in World Low Carbon Environment Impetus.

The World Environmental Conference (WEC) is supported and guided by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and relevant Chinese ministries and commissions under the guidance of globalized green economic development and UN sustainable development framework and jointly organized by IEEPA in combination with relevant international organizations as well as governments, cities and industrial institutions of all countries with the aim of advancing the global cooperation in and development of environmental protection and the new energy industry. Three editions of this event have been presented on an annual basis. This edition is themed Advancing Sustainable Development of China, Building Future Competitiveness. Guo Deming, secretary general of the Council of Yuchai Group, was present.
