Yuchai has cultivated a deeply based company culture, but it also needs to carry out more systematical culture construction in order to get further level of company culture.
This year, the focused points of Yuchai company culture is the systematic construction and culture landing of the Groups culture cultivation, the sub-culture construction and culture combination study etc., actively promoting the company culture changing towards culture strategy originated mode.
Systematic Construction Pushes forward the Culture Management
Main measures to push forward and strengthen the systematic construction of the company culture are to complete the mechanism and management network, systematically arrange the company culture concept system, make mid-term development strategy of the company culture and carry out, build assessment system of the company culture, etc.
In order to guarantee the effective progress of the culture system construction by mechanism and personnel, all the base units had employed part time company culture commissioner in December 2009; the Group formed a management team for the company culture construction in April 2010, making chairman of the board of Yuchai Group Yan Ping leader of the team; every base unit had organized implementation team of company culture construction. More than 600 people participated in the construction and distribution of the company culture campaign actively.
Since May of this year, the company culture department of the Group has invited several times the experts of Chinese Enterprise Culture Research Association to Yuchai to carry out company culture research and study activities and make survey on the company culture to deeply analysis the current culture situations of Yuchai, providing basis to establish Yuchai culture strategy and build company culture assessment system. Based on the careful investigation, the company culture strategy that support the implementation of Yuchais Twelfth Five Year plan has been made, and the company culture strategy that meets with the practical situation of Yuchai has been primarily formed. With the coming culture strategy of Yuchai, the systematic construction of Yuchai culture would become further clearer.
The Plenty Carriers Accelerate Culture Landing
For the culture distribution and penetration, Yuchai Group has developed colorful campaigns to promote the company culture, making full use of the major five publicizing platform as the current newspaper Yuchai Builder, internal publication Yuchai, television, website and OA news center, and also a serious of publications named Sustainable Development Report of Yuchai, Yuchai Inside, On the Road, etc. For the construction of publicizing base, company culture department of the Group specially designed the construction work of company culture corridor, which is planned to exhibit the culture contents and culture activities of Yuchai at striking public places or exhibition locations in order to spread Yuchai culture through vision, plant it deeply in the employees hearts and gradually make it natural behaviors of the employees.
For the company culture activity development, Yuchai keeps on innovations of the forms in order to fully exhibit Yuchai culture through colorful activities.
Reading forum is one of the special activities developed by Yuchai this year. On June 12th, held by the party committee of the Group, the activity called Reading for meanings and developments---reading forum Battles in Peace World of Yuchai Group was carried out at Yuchai Power Building. Some staff were invited to be the guests and discuss about two topics of How to strengthen the hardship and crisis sense and How to establish a rapidly responded market system. The forum atmosphere was very warm. Through exchanging and discussing each others opinions, all participators deepened their realization of the importance of hardship and crisis sense. Additionally, as the organization unit of the reading activity, the party committee of Yuchai Machinery Co. Ltd. also carries out reading activities. They have planned a monthly reading harvest exchanging activity and a quarterly Good books sharing activity. All the staff of the department will study the designated classical books or works, and every one should write down what he or she has learned.
Models have infinite strength. It could endow the company culture peoples characteristics and images which is convenient for the staff to learn. In July, the party committee carefully designed and held a reporting meeting of the advanced models events, by which the moving events of the advanced examples could be spread and the spirit and characteristics of them could be praised so as to build a good atmosphere of learning from the advanced and competed with the advanced, and finally to further promote Yuchai culture.
Since April this year, the company culture department of the Group organized and carried out activity of 2010 Awarded Collection of Yuchai Company Culture Cases and Art Works, which is supposed to further develop representative advanced events, advance people, classical expressions, classical stories and so on by typical cases; to visually and vividly show the company culture concepts by culture and art works of all themes like fine arts, calligraphy, photos, pictures, videos, etc. Now, the collection work of company culture cases (works) has been finished.
As for the culture and sports activities and the progress of the staffs abilities, all kinds of culture and art performances, ability contest, sports competitions, etc have exhibited the colorful Yuchai culture. On the evening of June 30th, a singing evening named Songs from heart for the party to celebrate the 89th anniversary of the CPC establishment was held grandly by Yuchai Group in the culture center, during which 25 competition teams from all the units of the Group expressed their infinite affections for the party, the people and the socialism by loud and clear songs full of passion from hearts.
The staffs professional ability competition annually held by Yuchai has provided a large stage for all the staff to learn technologies and show abilities. Youth culture and art festival, family culture and art festival and the elders culture and art festival are the traditional culture activities of Yuchai. There are some differences of the youth culture and art festival compared to the last year that in addition to the traditional activity of top ten youth singers contest, there is also youth debating contest, youth post standardized operation DV contest, etc, with all youth staff participating actively to show their attractiveness. This year the Group has also organized balloon vollyball, ping-pang, vollyball and other sports activities.
Actively Promote the Construction of Subculture
The culture of parent company is the unity of commonness and speciality. The culture of parent company represents the culture of the Group, is the commonness and decides the developing direction and purpose of the culture of subsidiary company; the culture of subsidiary company follows the culture of parent company, is speciality and subculture and could have its own features. In order to manage the culture of parent and subsidiary companies, and to guarantee the realization of the Groups Twelfth Five Year strategy of company culture, the company culture department of the Group initiates the investigation and study work on the culture of subsidiary company.
As the function department to construct the company culture, the party committee of Yuchai Machinery Co. Ltd. is also making efforts to build the suitable subculture, including deciding the mission of the party committee To promote the harmonious and healthy development by outstanding culture, making purpose as Build excellent culture thought and compete to be Yuchais advanced models, designing electric brochures and exhibiting them in the offices of every department.
The spirit of a company focuses on the culture; culture is the soft strength of a company. With the coming 60th anniversary, Yuchai is not satisfied with the great achievements it has gained but stands at a new point and depends on the culture strength, culture attractiveness and culture advancement to lead the entire Yuchai builder to work hard to realize the dream of Building the world famous brand, struggling to be a large scale international group.
