Organized by Foundry Association of Guangxi and Foundry Association under Guangxi Institute of Mechanical Engineering, held by Yuchai, Guangxi Foundry Annual Meeting and the Second Meeting of Member Representatives of Guangxi Foundry Association was held in Yulin Hotel on August 13th. Deputy secretary general of China Foundry Association Zhi Xiaoheng, chairman of Guangxi Machinery Industry Staff Education Association Li Shuangshuang, deputy director of Yulin municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Chen Tingqiu, vice chairman of Foundry Association of Guangdong Xie Shuzhong, secretary general of Guangdong Machinery Engineering Association Luo Hui, general manager of Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co.,Ltd.Li Tiansheng, chairman of the board of Liuzhou Lizhi Foundry Co.,Ltd. Pan Minghua, deputy director general of Foundry Association of Guangxi and chairman of Foundry Branch Society of Guangxi Engineering Society Xia Zimin, and other leaders, experts as well as about 100 foundry technicians from 55 units gathered under the same roof, carrying out academic exchanges of foundry and discussing the development of Guangxi Foundry Industry.

The meeting

The meeting was hosted by Zhao Guoqin, manager of Foundry Factory of Yuchai Machinery Co.,Ltd. Leaders of Zhi Xiaoheng, Li Tiansheng, Li Shuangshuang, Xie Shuzhong etc. addressed the meeting successively. Zhi Xiaoheng congratulated the opening of the meeting and confirmed the contributions made by Guangxi foundry enterprises to the nations economics. Li Tiansheng introduced the construction conditions of Yuchai foundry production capacity and development situations of foundry technologies. He said, in recent years, Yuchai had invested large amount of money in the construction of foundry production capacity; the foundry center project being built currently was one of the most advanced and largest foundry production base in the world; Yuchai was implementing waste rate of foundry 1% project with great effort to greatly promote the quality level of the foundry; the integrated waste rate of foundry in 2009 was 2.83%, down 41.53% compared to last year, setting the best achievement in the history. Li Tiansheng expressed, as the prop enterprise of Guangxi industry, Yuchai would definitely promote a quick development of Guangxi foundry industry.

The theme of the meeting was New material, new process and new equipment that could save energy, lower consumption and reduce emission and foundry management skills. In recent years, Guangxi foundry industry developed rapidly and a group of national famous foundry enterprises emerged out such as Yuchai, Liuzhou Lizhi, Liu Gong, Wuling Liuji and so on, all of which had boosted a better and faster development of Guangxi foundry industry, supported the development of Guangxi machinery industry, made outstanding contributions to the development of Guangxis social economics and played an important role of balancing the layout and basic guarantee in the national economics development plan. The foundry industry in our country developed very fast that the total foundry output had always been the first around the world, however, it was big but not strong and was much lower than the advanced level of the world due to many fierce problems such as small enterprise scale,  scattered distribution, so many repeat construction projects, lower level of entire equipments and technologies, poor production efficiency, lower management level of the production site, poor working conditions, serious pollution, lower production quality, lack of talents and so on. Most of the enterprises production capacity remained at lower level.  The meeting called on the circles of the foundry industry in Guangxi to strengthen the adjustment of industry structure, change the development mode, strengthen the technology innovation, carry out exchanges and cooperation actively, and make joint efforts to promote the sustainable and healthy development of Guangxi foundry industry, so as to contribute to the national foundry industry.

By this annual meeting, 40 disquisitions were collected in total and 12 excellent disquisition writers introduced research results in the meeting and interacted with the on site people. It was known that writers of the annual meeting disquisitions were mainly from Yuchai, liu Gong, Wuling Liuji, Liuzhou Lizhi Foundry, Guilin Machine Tool, etc. Among the 40 disquisitions, Yuchai owned 15. After assessment, 3 disquisitions won first prize, 9 second prize and 28 third prize. The disquisition from Yuchai named Batch Production of Vermicular Cast Iron Cylinder Head by Wirefeecling written jointly by Liu Zhijun and Liu Chunlei won the first prize. The meeting issued prizes to the winners.
