Bottom heart feeling of Yuchai (II)

Hunan

The importance of after-sale service for an enterprise goes without saying. However there are few who can really offer good after-sale service. Yuchai machinery has adhered to its core value for many years and has done an excellent job on after-sale service.

The differences between north and south not only lie in the climate conditions, but also in peoples way of doing things. 

On July 7, 2010, the journalist arrived in Changsha. Under the guide of Xiao Hu, a salesman from Hunan Huayu Technical Group which is the Hunan agent of Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd., we got to Hunan Yunzhong Gillsonite Development Co., Ltd.the first one of the stops that we are going to make in Hunan. In the companys meeting room, the journalist interviewed Song Tao, Director of Equipment Purchasing Department. Director Song introduced that the main business of their company was asphalt mixture for road constructions and highways. In Changsha, there were several companies also in this line and their company was not the largest. However, in recent years with the increase of road construction projects in Hunan, their company has developed rapidly. They have purchased not a few construction equipments, including 4 loading machines in 2009, which are all equipped with Yuchai YC6M Series Engines and Liugong ZL50C Products. At present, their company has 8 loading machines in total and 6 of them are equipped with Yuchai engines. 

When mentioning the reasons of all the purchased loading machines equipped with Yuchai engines, Director Song spoke out that it was because of Yuchais excellent after-sale service. He said, All of our products are related with building stones. They call for high requirements of operating equipments which shall have not only outstanding performance but also sophisticated after-sale service. Previously, our companys loading machines were all equipped with engines of foreign brands. Though they had stable performance, the maintenance costs were very high. Whats more, their after-sale service could not keep up when there were breakdowns of the equipments. We felt that the cost effectiveness was not very high; therefore, we decided to try the engines of domestic brands. After many market researches, we believed that Yuchai engines had high quality and excellent after-sale service. Then in later period when we needed new machines, we purchased two Liugong loading machines equipped with Yuchai engines. In the later usage process, we found that these machines were much better than expected. They were not only very sturdy but also could save fuel. As a result, when we needed to purchase new machines in later successive periods, we were determined to purchase machines equipped with Yuchai engines. Now the longest service time of our companys loading machines equipped with Yuchai is more than three years. As after-sale service personnel have offered timely track and maintenance of the machines, they have just been overhauled once. Their fuel consumption is similar with new machines. Director Song seemed to be very satisfied with Yuchai engines.

After the interview with Director Song, the journalist deeply felt that a successful enterprise shall not only have mature products, but also always keep up with customers different requirements. Because only in this way can an enterprise better hold their developmental direction.

In the afternoon, we came to Hunan Jianye Concrete Co., Ltd. in Yuelu district, Changsha. In the companys production site, we met Xiao Fucheng, President of the company. We were very surprised at president Xiaos carefulness towards work. Though he has been a billionaire, his favorite working place is the construction site.   

When talking about engineering machinery, president Xiao can be regarded as an expert. In the 1990s, he had been in the deputy-department level position. Because of a few inspired rushes, he started to go into business. In the beginning, with the reasons of capital and etc., his business was about renting engineering machinery and equipments. As he had been in touch with equipments for a long time, he had a thorough understanding and knowledge of engineering machinery. Later with the reform of property system in China, real estate market witnessed an increasing boom. He detected the business opportunities hidden in it. Then he changed to do the business of commercial concrete. After ten years development, his company developed from a former workshop to the present group company, including four concrete production companies and a stone processing plant. His company has a 400 million cubic meters annual output of commercial concrete products. More than half of the commercial concrete for construction in Changsha is provided by his company. In the aspect of equipments, the whole company has more than 20 suits of modern concrete mixing plant, over 40 loading machines and more than 100 concrete mixer trucks.        

80% of his companys?Liugong loading machines are equipped with Yuchai engines and so are most of the concrete mixer trucks. President Xiao said, We require the machines to be equipped with Yuchai engines. Because we know that Yuchai engines are sturdy, have few breakdowns and excellent after-sale service. At least I personally feel that among all the engines I have used, the after-sale service of Yuchai engines is the best which we regard as the most important. In doing the business like ours, what we are most worried about is the breakdown of equipments. Any equipments breakdown will disturb working procedures of the whole operating line. It will cause many delays. As for Yuchais after-sale service, president Xiao expressed his special satisfaction. He said, In the beginning, personnel from Yuchais after-sale service center visited our company from time to time and gave us many maintenance suggestions. At that time, we were bothered with them. But later I found that they had done a good job. It is not just their job. Whats more important is their attitude towards customers. With their suggestions, now the maintenance of our all equipments has been standardized and therefore hidden danger is also reduced a lot.   


During this visit, the journalist felt honored to attend the mid-year after-sale service meeting of Qinghai district held by Yuchai in Xining. From the range of the meeting to its contents, the journalist personally felt Yuchais attention to its after-sale service. Actually many years before, lots of enterprises had put forward such a slogan as Priority at quality, Winning at service. But many years later, how many enterprises have really operated like this?
