On December 12, on the eve of Yuchais 60th anniversary celebration, to express sincere blessings to Yuchai and cement school-enterprise relations, leaders of Harbin Engineering University (HRBEU) including Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President Wei Lin and Cong Jianwei, deputy Party secretary of the College of Power and Energy Engineering of HRBEU, visited Yuchai. Gu Tangsheng, president of Yuchai Group; Zhang Jiasha, HR director of Yuchai Group and Wang Wei, chief economist of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. warmly received the visitors, and convened a total of 26 graduates from HRBEU that had just joined Yuchai for a seminar at the meeting room on the sixth floor of Yuchai Group.

At the seminar, Guan Min, general manager of the HR Department of Yuchai Group, extended warm welcome to the visitors, said HRBEU is a major base for training talents in the field of shipping, naval equipment, marine development and nuclear applications, a large number of graduates from HRBEU have joined Yuchai every year since Yuchai and HRBEU concluded a school-enterprise strategic agreement in 2009, these graduates have grown fast on respective posts and some of them have become pillars, and hoped HRBEU will cement cooperation with Yuchai to transfer more talents to Yuchai.
Wei said, In the first place, I come to Yuchai this time to inquire into training of our graduates to brace ourselves for training more outstanding talents demanded by the society, and to earnestly perform the school-enterprise strategic agreement with Yuchai. In the second place, I visit Yuchai on the eve of its 60th anniversary celebration with my blessings. During the celebration, Mr. Liu Zhigang, president of our university, will be personally present for the celebration with Yuchais staff.
Wei speaks at the seminar
Attending graduates from HRBEU voiced their ideas actively, sharing their experience of working and living in Yuchai. Chen Baojian, a graduate in marine engineering that joined Yuchai in 2011, said, I am confident of joining Yuchai. In the six months, Yuchai Engineering Research Institute (YERI) organized us for two training sessions given by top international internal combustion engine R & D institutions, one is Ricardo, UK and the other is Southwest Research Institute, U.S. I found my English was inadequate for practical communication in exchanges with foreign experts, and suggest that the alma mater should open some courses on professional English.
Yan Jia, a newcomer and a graduate in power machinery and engineering, voiced same ideas, hoping the alma mater will be more practical in professional course setting to be beneficial to future work. For example, expertise in internal combustion engine supercharging is inadequate, but every internal combustion engine needs supercharging in reality.
