China's top 500 enterprises unveiled, Yuchai climbs 12 places

On September 3, China's Top 500 Enterprises and Top 500 Manufacturers in 2011 were unveiled in Chengdu. Of China's Top 500 Enterprises and Top 500 Manufacturers, Yuchai ranked 215th and 108th respectively, 12 places and 5 places up from the previous year. Four enterprises from Guangxi made the list of top 500 enterprises and seven ranked among top 500 manufacturers, equal to the previous year.

The 2011 Release Conference for China's Top 500 Enterprises and Summit for Large-sized Chinese Enterprises, organized by China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) and China Enterprise Director Association (CEDA), co-organized by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and undertaken by the Chengdu Municipal People's Government, was held in Chengdu on the morning of September 3. At the conference, CEC and CEDA published the list of China's Top 500 Enterprises in 2011. Comparable data show the threshold of this year's top 500 enterprises has been lifted from RMB 11.08 billion to RMB 14.199 billion, an increase of 28.1% from the previous year. In 2011, the total operation revenues of China's top 500 enterprises reached RMB 36.31 trillion, an increase of 31.6% from the previous year. Sinopec maintained lead with operation revenues of RMB 1.969 trillion, followed by China National Petroleum Corporation and the State Grid Corporation of China with RMB 1.721 trillion and RMB 1.529 trillion respectively. Of Guangxi's enterprises, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd., Guangxi Construction Engineering Group, Guangxi Investment Group Co., Ltd. and Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd. ranked 215th, 318th, 334th and 418th with operating revenues of RMB 37.046 billion, RMB 23.468 billion, RMB 22.219 billion and RMB 17.234 billion respectively.

It is the tenth list of China's Top 500 Enterprises that CEC has made public. The list involves China's representative nucleuses in different industries and regions, has provided authoritative development information of China's large-sized enterprises, and has become a "barometer" for all walks of life to observe the development of Chinese enterprises. In this century, Yuchai has grown continuously and rapidly, thus becoming an internal combustion engine manufacturing base as well as a small and medium-power full-hydraulic excavator manufacturer with the most complete spectrum of products in the country. Yuchai ranked 461st among China's Top 500 Enterprises in 2002, and has made the list for ten consecutive years. This time, Yuchai's ranking was 12 places up from the previous year, showing again the enterprise's tremendous development strength. Yuchai aimed to achieve operating revenues of RMB 40 billion in 2011 and strove to rank among enterprises with operating revenues of RMB 100 billion by the end of the "twelfth five-year" period. In the first half of this year, in the context of economic slump, Yuchai achieved operating revenues of RMB 21.067 billion, fulfilling the first-half task. Under Yuchai, the companies that have achieved a year-on-year revenue growth of over 20% include Yuchai Heavy Industry Company Limited (YHI), Guangxi Nanning Yuchai Lubricant Co., Ltd. (NYL), Yuchai Huayuan Machinery (Yulin) Co., Ltd. (YHM), Guangxi Yuchai Jinchuang Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. (YJAP), Guangxi Yuchai Energy & Chemical Co., Ltd. (YEC) and Maoming Changsheng Grease Industry Co., Ltd. (CGI), of which YHI, NYL and CGI have achieved a year-on-year revenue growth of over 50%.

Besides Yuchai, listed enterprises from Guangxi included Liugong Group, Guangxi Nonferrous Metals Group, Guangxi Nanhua Sugar Industry Group Co., Ltd., Liuzhou Wulin Motors Co., Ltd., China Tobacco Guangxi Industrial Co., Ltd. and Guangxi Farming Group Co., Ltd.
