From September 8 to 10, the 5th China 100-Attendee Academic Forum on Corporate Culture, organized by China Corporate Culture institute (CCCI), was held in Xian, Shanxi Province, attracting more than 200 delegates from over 20 provinces and cities. Guo Deming, council member of CCCI and deputy Party secretary of Yuchai Group, attended the forum. At the forum, a total of 132 corporate culture research findings were commended, of which the survey report Facing Transregional Cultural Diversity, Gaining Corporate Development through Cultural Integration contributed by Yuchai won the national first prize and the paper Unity of Knowledge and Action, Essence of Culture won the second prize.
Themed Insight into Hot and Thorny Problems in Chinas Corporate Culture Development, the forum, in the manner of interactions between officials, manufacturers, scholars and researchers, in forms such as forum speech and sub-forum exchange, went deep into typical corporate culture in a bid to advance the study and practice of applied theories of corporate culture with Chinese characteristics. The forum invited 11 companies including Haier and Dongfeng to introduce their experience in corporate culture development. By analyzing typical cases of enterprise practice, delegates had heated discussions on subjects such as enterprise business mode innovation and cultural management, corporate culture innovation and transformation of mode of economic development, cultural integration in enterprise restructuring, group governance and cultural management, and establishment and practice of corporate culture assessment system.
Also, the forum commended outstanding corporate culture research findings contributed by enterprises from around the country. Both findings contributed by Yuchai were commended, the survey report Facing Transregional Cultural Diversity, Gaining Corporate Development through Cultural Integration by Guo Deming, He Xiaoyu, Li Chunmei and Mei Changfu conducted an in-depth survey of CSR Yuchai Sichuan Engine Co., Ltd., a joint venture of Yuchai and CSR. Due to the novel subject, substantial content, hard evidence and use of multiple analytical tools, the paper gained unanimous praise from attending experts and won the first prize. The paper Unity of Knowledge and Action, Essence of Culture by He Xiaoyu dialectically expounded on the importance of unity of knowledge and action in corporate culture development. Rich in cultural essence, the paper was also highly praised by attending experts and won the second prize.
At the forum, Hu Ping, former minister of commerce, former director of the Special Zone Office of the State Council and chairman of CCCI, delivered a keynote speech. Meng Fanchi, executive vice chairman and secretary-general of CCCI, presided over the forum.
