On October 22, the 8th China-ASEAN Logistics Cooperation Forum was held at Yongjiang Hotel in Nanning. Yuchai Logistics Co., Ltd. (YL) attended the forum as a major logistics enterprise in Guangxi. Gu Tangsheng, president of Yuchai Group, delivered a keynote speech at the forum.
The forum combined cross-border logistics and cross-culture exchanges for the first time, pooled the wisdom of a multitude of political, business and academic elite, took forms of keynote speech, summit dialogue, business negotiation, project promotion, exhibition and display, and visit and inspection, to provide dialogue opportunities to Chinese and ASEAN leaders, government officials, industrial and business leaders, as well as experts and scholars, and to create a cooperation platform for logistics enterprises, financial institutions, manufacturing enterprises and circulation enterprises, in the hope of exploring a road of interactive development of industry, logistics and culture suiting the development of China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone.
Gu delivers a speech
At the forum, Gu delivered an impressive speech entitled Linkage Development and Informatization of Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics from four aspects including advanced manufacturing, advanced logistics, linkage development and experience of logistics and manufacturing, and linkage development and informatization of manufacturing and logistics. According to him, after six decades development, Yuchai, founded in 1951, has developed into a manufacturing and logistics enterprise with total assets of RMB 31.6 billion and annual sales of RMB 37 billion in 2010. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yuchai, YL is one of the 20 Chinese enterprises that have obtained national qualifications for road cargo transport. Currently, YL enjoys overwhelming advantages in machinery, vehicle and parts industries, and has established perfect nationwide business networks and advanced information systems.
The 8th China-ASEAN Logistics Cooperation Forum is not only a platform to promote economic and social exchanges and communication between ASEAN countries, but also a platform for cooperation and collaboration between our logistics, financial and manufacturing enterprises, said Gu, adding YL hopes for in-depth and all-round logistics cooperation with a host of automobile, machinery and parts manufacturers in China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone, to make utmost contributions to the development of the zone.
Among attendees were Lin Guoqiang, vice chairman of the CPPCC Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Xu Ningning, Chinese executive deputy secretary-general of China-ASEAN Business Council; Cai Jin, vice president of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing and Wang Yaoqiu, vice president of the Logistics Research Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University.
