Yuchai has withstood the blizzard of financial crisis and gained its most glorious achievementsin the 1^st quarter of this year, the sales revenue of Yuchai Group surpassed 5.6 Billion Yuan of which 2.8 billion was gained in March, up 12% compare to the same period last year. The volumes of production and sales of engines both exceeded 175,000, hitting a historic high. At the beginning of April, the demands for Yuchais products are still high. Its expected that Yuchai receives over 70,000 orders for engines and over 600 orders for construction machines within the month. Currently, with the opportunity of the on-going activities of study and practice of the Concept of Scientific Development, Yuchai is going to increase its internal strength and external influence, and overcome difficulties to start another wave of development.

The activities of study and practice of the Concept of Scientific Development with the theme of to increase internal strength and external influence, overcome critical difficulties, promote scientific development, and build a globalized Yuchai were started at the end of March. Working hard around the theme and based on the reality of production and operation, CCP organizations and management teams at all levels explored innovative methods to study and conduct research. During the study process, they have stayed on three combinations to ensure the result. The three combinations are: 1. combination of the study and the reality of the ideology to help party members to gain a thorough understanding on the Concept of Scientific Development and set up new ideas of scientific development; 2. combination of the study and the overall situation to accurately analyze the overall situation, increase internal strength to cope with financial crisis and actively clarify the development approaches of the company; 3. combination of the study and the existing problems: based on the development, reform, livelihood and other major issues, to vigorously promote the technological innovation, optimize industrial structure and product, increase marketing efforts and speed up the construction of supply chain system, standardize the operation and management, strengthen team-building, take the initiative to make practical service, and try to eliminate various obstacles that block the healthy development of the enterprises  

The short-term objective of Yuchai is to maintain the output, sales and growth and the core objective is to ensure the healthy and sustainable development of the company, All departments of Yuchai Group work hard to improve management, resolve difficulties and improve the quality and efficiency of development.

Yuchai Special Purpose Vehicle Co., Ltd is on a large-scale production campaign. Its sales departments are doing their best to get more orders and increase market shares. The company tries to make every product to be large scale and tries to build a relatively stable channel for order.  By good organization and early preparations, its production departments are on plan and keep its production to meet the requirements. Its management departments make sure that all needed personnel are in place on time.  Its public affair departments try hard to improve the morale of employees and facilitate communications between CCP departments and people.

The Foundry Plant is challenging the limit of technical to implement the 1% Casting Waste Project and to achieve the internationally advanced casting level. Its hard works have  created the best quality level. In February, the casting waste rate was dropped to 3.08%, down 34% compare to the same period of last year. In March, it was dropped to 2.9%, exceeding the critical point of 3%. The casting waste rates of some models were even dropped to 0.45%.

Given the encouraging production output, all assembly lines and all sections of the 1^st Engine Plant worked hard at full capacity for production. On April 11, 672 engines were made in the 1^st Engine Plant. It set a record of production in a single day.

In the meantime, the activity of to send technologies to manufacture process was being held by Yuchai Technicians Association to encourage technicians train more workers and resolve the issues from frontline. Ling Zhiyong, a melting master with 40 years melting experience, still takes 5 technicians as his trainee even though he is going to retire soon.  

As the new wave of study of the Concept of Scientific Development was under way, a good news also come to Yuchai. Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. and Yuchai Heavy Industry passed the strict evaluation of Chinese high-tech enterprise certification to become state-level high-tech enterprises recently and are entitled to enjoy 15% preferential tax rate. It added a strong push to the development of Yuchai.
