Organized by China Quality Association and undertaken by China Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation, the first China Quality Academy and Innovation forum was held in Beijing from August 26th to 28th. More than 260 representatives like academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Liu Yuanzhang, professor of Tsinghua University Sun Jing, professor of Tianjin University He Zhen, and people from all the colleges and universities, enterprises and government departments of different sectors participated in the meeting. The theme of the forum was Quality --- source power of sustainable development. The forum arranged activities such as topic speeches delivered by famous quality experts, macro-analysis on quality trend, quality strategy forum, quality experts forum, quality practice forum, youth academy forum, excellent articles issuing, and others. The forum also awarded the writers that had won Excellent Article Prize of Aerospace Science and Engineering Cup. Tan Zujian of the quality department of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. was invited to participate in the forum as the representative of Yuchai and the writer of the forum article.

Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Liu Yuanzhang thought, the leaders of our country and the society always attached great importance to the products quality, but our national quality academy status was not equivalent with its social status. So he hoped that circles of the quality should make even harder efforts to study quality promotion, catch up the high levels, lift the status of the quality academy so as to offer strong academy support to the development of the national manufacturing industry.

Around the forum theme, all participated representatives developed extensive exchanges. Professor Sun Jing and He Zhen separately delivered topic lectures named History, present and future of the quality and  Six sigma and quality innovation. Wang Yong from the Industry Economics Technology Institute of China National Aviation Corporation and Wang Jun from Qingdao Haier separately introduced their own enterprises innovation course of quality management and the practice experiences of implementing six sigma managing.

Representatives from Yuchai discussed extensively with all participated representatives about the purpose, significance and methods to implement the six sigma management. Representatives from Yuchai thought, the purpose for enterprises to bring in six sigma management was mainly on how to build a systematical mechanism to cultivate and choose talent through the cultivation of Green Belt and Black Belt; how to ensure the sustainable quality improvement for the enterprises through system design and process optimizing; however, the benefits that could be brought by the six sigma management should not be the mainly considered problem. This point was agreed by other participated representatives and professor He Zhen recognized the point as reasonable and wisdom perception.
