The 16th Asian Games are scheduled to open in Guangzhou, China on November 12, 2010, which are reportedly the largest-ever edition of the Games, equivalent to the Beijing Olympic Games. This event is a comprehensive review of China's economic strength, political stability, social security, business management, public quality, technical level, environmental sanitation and sports competitiveness, as well as a huge opportunity for development. As all the buses, official vehicles, athlete vehicles and media vehicles to serve the Games are equipped with Yuchai engines (more than 8,000), including LPG engines (90%), National III diesel engines, National IV diesel engines and hybrid systems, it is a great challenge and development opportunity for Yuchai.

For the success of the Games, Yuchai must ensure the normal operations of all its engines used in the Games. To this end, Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. established a Games support team headed by General Manager Li Tiansheng and encompassing 43 elites from various units such as the customer service center, monopoly company, production department, engineering research institute, department of product application and development, quality department, department of technical support and plant, to ensure the normal operations of Games vehicles.

On September 24, as the last array of staff of the team arrived in Guangzhou, all the service staff has been in place. Earlier on, the team had taken work over from public transport companies and blended into public transport support teams for first-stage vehicle inspection.

Now, the team is operating in an intense and orderly manner, whose work mainly includes hybrid commissioning, assisting public transport companies in Games vehicle inspection, training drivers of new official vehicles with National IV diesel engines, official vehicle inspection, etc.
