On September 29, as the last Dongfeng T-Lift X3 with Yuchai 6M340 was delivered at Muli colliery in Tianjun, Qinghai, the first batch of 43 Dongfeng T-Lift X3 with Yuchai 6M engines had fully been delivered to the colliery for use.
Located in the north of Tianjun County, Qinghai Province, with an average elevation of more than 4,300m, the colliery is topped with snow all the year round and has a severe climate. As Qinghai's largest colliery, it is rich in mineral resources. From every April, hundreds of large coal vehicles gather here from around the country. The colliery, in good demand of heavy truck models of auto makers such as Dongfeng, Foton, Sinotruk, Tongli and Tonly, is of great strategic importance to all heavy truck manufacturers.

Qinghai has always been the traditional market of Dongfeng Cummins, which is inaccessible to other brands. Hence, Dongfeng distributors equip all Dongfeng T-Lift sold in Qinghai, including Muli colliery, with Cummins engines. To reverse the situation, He Xiangren, director of Qinghai Office, frequently headed to the nine mining areas in Muli for investigation into the topography, environment and road conditions and detailed surveys of heavy truck demands. Through months of unremitting efforts, Qinghai Yuzhan Dongfeng Automobile Sales Service Co., Ltd., a tremendous distributor of Dongfeng, agreed to popularize Yuchai diesel engines with an initial order of Yuchai 6M340-33 engines to equip 10 Dongfeng T-Lift X3 dumpers, breaking Cummins? monopoly in Qinghai and making an unprecedented breakthrough.
Upon arrival in Qinghai, the new vehicles were popularized comprehensively in the areas where heavy trucks worked, with an emphasis on the nine mining areas of the highest-elevation Muli colliery. In more than a month, 43 T-Lift X3 vehicles with Yuchai 6M340 engines were sold. This is the first time that Yuchai machinery has been used in batch at the colliery, laying a solid foundation for the production increase next year and promising the prosperity of Yuchai 6M engines in Qinghai.
